We used to go over to mum’s place for dinner…but kids waste time over there. Plus SIL on confinement then. So to save mum the hassle of cooking for so many of us, we decided to stay home and order tingkat.

This way, time is not wasted traveling to and fro either. After dinner, kids will get homework done.

Today’s herbal chicken wasn’t too bad. Seriously I had doubts too, ordering tingkat ie…but close 2 eyes and eat since time is saved and no need to crack head what to eat everyday.
      No beef and mutton.

My fingers are so cracked I feel pain every time I wash my hands...

if u've EPO or Vit E capsule at home, burst it n apply on the cracks.I can imagine ur pains. When i first started cooking, always got burns ard my wrists.the scars were there for quite some times until i applied olive oil,EPO on top of lotion. Now it slowly faded.

back then, i was fed up when kids wasted time eating dinner at mum's place...bcos they wanted to delay going home...then SIL had her confinement plus mum couldn't cope with the new maid's resistance to learn cooking. if we still stayed at mum's place, there would be 7 people to cook for. now, tingkat is delivered at 430pm. i will cook rice and then we have dinner...after that, rest 5 min before bath and coach them in their work at 8pm...in exchange for that proper system, i close 2 eyes where food is concerned.

precisely lah...my SIL's idea is for her to do housework and that of course includes cooking. the newborn is looked after by SIL herself...so if just doing housework, employ maid for what?
the maid simply refuses to learn and remember...brother put her at mum's place and each time mum will teach her the same few dishes. made soup for 2 months and yet still can't make a decent one.

Hi I have dermatitis on hand as well and went through the same thing at one stage. Here are some suggestions that you may want to consider. Avene Cicalfate has been very helpful on the cracked areas. It took a few weeks of very consistent using for the area to heal. I basically just kept a tube with me everywhere I went and rubbed it in round the clock, even in the middle of the night. I also have all the usual - physiogel, paw paw cream etc, but I think something with antiseptic or antibacterial property is better when it is at a very acute stage. You can use another layer of moisturizer over if there is no infection, or around other parts of your hand as prevention.

I cook on weekdays (lunch and dinner) but my husband helps with washing up when he is at home. Use non latex gloves if you can, change to UIC dish washing liquid (recommended here some time back by other forummers) , and reduce frequency of washing. (my kids eat round the clock) Dry very well and rub the cream of your choice in immediately after. I also try to arrange the food preparation such that I don't have to wash my hands over and over again. Alternate multidish meals with one pot meals to cut down on water/ soap contact and friction.

One of my kids has eczema and sensitive skin as well, so we will usually have some chemical free soaps at home. I will use that for my hands when they are starting to crack.

Talking about cooking for maid... my DH's bro's wife brought her maid along for reunion dinner at PIL's place and expected my MIL to cook something with no pork for her maid... she should jolly well feed her maid at home first.

SIL didn't even bother to get her maid to help MIL with food preparation and SIL herself was just playing with her handphone the whole time...

But she still gets favoured by MIL coz she married the favourite son... :faint:

Maids sometx resembles their employers. My neighbour's maid used to borrow pampers n other baby stuff fr. me. She always says will return it bk,but nvr.Her employer leaves everything to the maid.Employer nvr buy pamper or milk powder or salt,so borrowed fr. us.Her employer is a rich indonesian lady who claims that she has chains of jewellery shops in Indonesia.

Her maid also intrigue all my ex-maids.DH asked me to talk to her employer.I feel it won't help coz can see she totally bo chap(like ur SIL)type.
