I do not know the 5 PVs for this year at all.
Are you able to share with ksp here what the 5 PVs that applied this yr did for the sch? :please:
Any mega noteworthy contribution, let the potential PVs here know in advance so they don't pin too much hope in getting into SCGS via this route.
For the last few years other than 2011 and 2012 (as I have wound down on my involvement in this particular program), I was involved in a talent program for the Sec 3 girls where there were involvement of some phase 2B PVs. We were mentors to the Sec 3 girls, teaching them how to analyse businesses, financial information, preparing business proposal and mentoring them in 3 business competitions throughout one year. Each of us spent about 3 hours weekly for a good 10 months in a year. Those phase 2B PVs clocked in more than 100 hours a year by working with the girls.
Now that SCGS is going IP, the school is coming out with more and more programs, I will think that parents who have a niche area to offer and add value to SCGS IP program will stand a good chance in becoming the PV. All the best to those who are applying PV. -
i will cry if my girl end up in this school with 2 P1 classes... and it is not even within 1km or 2km from where i stay

No problem. :hi5: -
Just a couple of years back, friends and colleagues said getting into scgs shouldnt be a problem if one resides within 1km. still vividly recall the few of us told our friend to just relax when registrating his kid for P1 after seeing him in great stress and anxiety. Fast forward a few yrs , i do start to feel the state of anxiety after seeing requirement for need of balloting even if one stays within 1km. Though registrating my dd is 2 yrs away but the feeling of nervousness is sure creeping up bit by bit and i better start planning for contingency in case the application for PV gets turn down. If i say i fully understand the stress that parents were in during balloting, thats BS. I cannot fuly comprehend it unless i am there myself or been through it. Kudos to those parents who went that round. If there is any lessons /tips/to-dos/not-to-dos, kindly throw it at me. More than happy to receive it. :?: Congrats to those who got what they wished for and those who didnt, we just got to make do with the cards dealt and makes the best of it.

like you... i am registering my girl 2 years later but have recently moved to within 1km of the school. a few years back, and even for last year, those residing within 1km will not have a problem getting in the school. but alas... how things have changed
the thing is without getting in to SCGS, the next school to apply is balestier hill!! which i really really do not want
previously, at least for phase 2C supp, there are still schools like st margarets, marymount convent to apply... but now... SIGHH...skinnypapa:

Have checked that my place is 1 of the last few within 2km of st marg. i guess if pv for scgs gets turns down, i better hedge it with st marg and see how it goes. Not sure if govt will change ruling on the distance requirement after so many complains abt renting etc. So is urs 08 baby?
