[Novena] Primary Schools

Strictly speaking we are Evagelicans. But we don’t emphasize on denominations at all in my church in the states. All the teachings are so similar if not identical…but I do understand they wouldn’t recognized cos different denomination after all…

All Methodist churches now very strict, not just Barker road Methodist church, where ACS Barker primary is physically located together with church, at Barker road.
To get the coveted letter, they must be active members serving for a minimum stipulated time frame, prevent abuse. Else they can forget about it. -

Tks happy to b mumBagcononics:
Hi All, need yr opinions. Am happy with the new ruling as both schools I am hoping to get my DS into are btw 1-2km. Am Comtemplating to enrol him in either ACS primary or SJI... May I know which school will I stand a better chance as both schools are approximately away 1.2km away from my place. Thanks in advance.
based on history, you will stand a better chance in SJIJ. But if you actually prefer ACS, then try go for ACS... -
phtthp:
Hi phtthp, does it mean tt chances are very slim for those 1-2km for acs(p) or no chance at all? TksACS Barker primary had balloting last 2/3 yrs for Phase 2B/2C - under 1km.
We only had an average of 20-25 vacancies, for Phase 2B & 2C. -
Hi Bagcononics,
Yes, your chance is slim for 1-2km. It is better to re-evaluate your plans with calculated risk. There are situation where there are no vacancy for 1-2km.
Perhaps nearer to the date of the result for phase 2B/C, you can always asked the school how many applicants are there. If overshot and requires balloting, i suggest you relook the options. -

Hi Bagcononics,
Yes, you stand a better chance at SJI junior. Pls refer to this link with regards to SJI junior. It mentioned that historically for the last 5 years, there is no balloting for 1-2km in phase 2B (not the same for phase 2C yeah). Also are you aware that SJI junior is temporarily shifting to geyland bahru?

As for the history of SJI and ACS primary, you can refer to this link.

However, if you really like ACS......like what other forumer explained that you can try.....but you need to closely monitor on the # of applicants submitted vs the vacancy. Should the risk is high nearer to the date of the result, then you can still draw out the application form from ACS and then jump to SJI. Hope my explanation is clear to you. -

No problem. Glad to help.

Believe the new ruling does not help much for parents who apply under Phase2B because SCGS has minimal PVs and GRLs are mainly Singaporeans. Correct?
