lilfeets:
I think the competition for ACPS is very fierce. This year has lesser vacancies than last year, so everyone who cant make it within 1km will turn to SJI or to ACSJ. As such, Junior will also be over suscribed this year. Looks like it may be balloting for both ACPS and ACSJ this year even for phase 2B.
Yes, agree !
this year, strong wind blowing the direction towards ACS Junior. Expect balloting within 1 km, ACS Barker. Not only many Methodists applying, but also GRL. -
luckyme:
Yeap!
last year got 1 boy who has highest GEP score among ACS is from ACSJ. End up didn't continue to be ACSian.
Yes after PSLE, some ACS P6 boys cross over to RI, or Hwa Chong Secondary. -
phtthp:
You bet, phtthp. Just my boy's class in BRMCK already 8 applying for ACPS, not forgetting the other 3 classes of K2 plus those from other kindergartens and those GRLs. My initial plan B of ACJS seem low chances this time round as we reside just outside one km.Yes, agree !

Tough year!
Only can keep my fingers crossed and pray for God's favour..... -
Chain:
I know I sound silly, but what's GEP? Gifted program?
GEP stands for \"Gifted Education Programme\".
around August each year, Primary 3 cohort school kids can take GEP tests.
There are Total 2 round of tests - only test 2 subjects: English & Maths.
round 1 - usually quite a substantial number of pupils can clear.
round 2 - is the killer paper. Only a handful from round 1 can clear.
if a child can clear both round of tests, MOE then offer these children, let them study 3 year GEP programme in Upper primary: start from P4 to P6. Parents however can have a choice: to accept or reject the GEP offer.
if you accept the offer - need to transfer your child to one of the GEP schools, if your child currently not studying in one of them.
at the moment, ACS Barker offer GEP programme, but not ACS Junior.
Some other selected primary schools also offer, like:-
Nanyang, Nan Hua, Tao Nan, Catholic High, Rosyth, Henry Park, St Hilda, Raffles Girls. -

the other side: a number of Newton kindergarten kids are heading for ACS Junior, from both AM & PM sessions.
thus, (overflow from ACS Barker + orginal intended ones for Junior) will cause balloting in ACS Junior too !
tonight sleep early. Wake up fresh tomorrow got energy, go for battle ! -
