No need to hire pi also will know the ID of those 29 balloted in cos the school will always put the ballot slip up for all to see.
With the full names of the girls, it’s not mission impossible to track down I guess.
Btw, I’m not eyeing scgs but my niece will be seeking a place there <1km SC and she’s really staying there. -
phtthp:
SCGS is a prestigous school + affliated to Secondary. Many parents are desperate to enrol their daughter in. Still, one need to be honest. If fail to ballot in, is not the end of the world. Can try to sit for entrance proficiency tests.
SCGS is a prestigous school. Is it only prestigous? What about its academic excellency? How do I get the information to compare with other schools? -
Herbie:
Thanks.U have to register yr child under the waitlist.
http://www.scgs.edu.sg/content/view/22/25/
and when there is a vacancy the school will alert you and yr girl as to sit for the entry test. -

only when vacancies arise for P1, then such tests are administered only for Singapore Citizen. Otherwise, no test.
Entrance Proficiency Admission Tests for SCGS P1 pupils normally take place in beginning first few weeks of Term 1, January. This year, it took place on Saturday, 14 January 2012.
pupils who fail to ballot into SCGS from Phase 2B / 2C can apply to sit for the tests, ie. seek transfer.
it was reported that standard of tests is quite high. With remaining half a year left to 2013 January - child can start prepare now.

Yes, this problem does not lie in SCGS as well. If they want, I feel they should be auditing the other popular schools that historically have balloting as well. If these people need to pay a fine for cheating, MOE will have a sudden windfall.P1 mummy:
I have a very close friend working in the legal department of MOE and he is good friends with one of the vice-principals of SCGS. The final list of 29 parents is easily obtainable. If my daughter fails to secure a place at SCGS this year at 2C (<1km) - then I shall move heaven and earth to ensure that every single child's parent's are investigated. Based on the comments on this forum alone, it is clear that I am likely to be balloting against some of you (who live >1km from SCGS ... clementi to bishan to Toa payoh...somewhere in Singapore)....
:goodpost:
It is HIGH time to open up the can of worms .... expose all cheaters & liars who obtain a place within < 1km. After manage to ballot in sucessfully, a few months later after the dust settle down, then they quietly shift back to their former old house > 1km, hoping that no one bother to spot check.
Yes, i've heard stories about how some intend to use their rich relative's house to register within 1 km from SCGS, when their own house actually reside > 1km.
once you get caught, your name & profession will be centred spread, splashed across a number of newspapers. Your bosses, colleagues in your department will come to know that you're a cheater / liar. Everyone gossip about you, behind your back. If you are a civil servant, you may even risk losing your \" iron rice bowl\".
This does not happen to SCGS alone. But also to a few other hot, popular branded schools as well.
The past cases of people getting caught for cheating happened too long ago that people fall into complacency that they will not get caught... Just look around... how many people around us have cheated in one way or other to get their kids into their desired primary school. Unfortunately... we just heard of many.... and there is no fear in them.... -
Interesting. Government said not enough babies and I wonder how come we are fighting over SCGS now? Are there many baby girls born in the year of puppy (2006) and living less than 1 km to SCGS? Where are these babies from? I can only think, they are just new SC battle with old SC to win SCGS. I am very stressed now.

Maybe MOE could set up a whistle blowing hotline for parents to report the fraudulent use of address for P1 registration purposes. Many companies have adopted this. However whether they have the trained resources to handle the influx of emails/calls and whether they are politically motivated to do this is an entirely different matter. It will be a big thing for sure! But it will make Singaporeans look so stupid though…
And the fine mentioned by MMM could be a good deterrent as well, if the figure is substantial. In the thousands at least! -
