I believe Wellington Primary School and Sembawang Primary School will have lots of vacancies after Phase 2C .... based on my experience in 2012.

You are therefore encouraged to try Phase 2C Balloting at Canberra Primary School or Endeavour Primary School; depending on your preference.

      Best of Luck!! :xedfingers:

        Thanks for the reply.

I went for a drive around the area and found that the schools are nearly the same distance from my house - Endeavor, Wellington and Northoaks. Northoaks seem the slighly furthest. 2 bustops away or another 100m than the rest.

My thoughts now are to try for Canberra at 2C as it is the nearest, although 42-43 spaces left. And i assume 2B also will be ballot. Probably means 2C will be over applied at least 150% onwards.

Backup will be Northoaks. I like the idea of new schools. TUR was only 50% last year. Which mean Teachers have more time on students?

Anyone have any comments on New School vs Older Schools?

For new schools, I feel that it really depends on the quality of the pioneer teachers. I have seen new schools with very young and driven teachers who do alot for their students. It’s hard to say if new schools are good or not, as teachers in these schools would have to build up resources within a short span of time. And as these resources are newly built up, the newly enrolled kids would be the ones they try on. Most of the time, the resources would keep changing after a short period of use as the flaws usually show up only after being used.

The first few batches of their psle students would also be their gauge and feel of the general cohort, and see how they can improve.

That said, I am not saying that new schools are no good, just that there are some cons that older schools may not have.

          Hope this helps.

:frustrated: :frustrated: Wow Canberra at 2B already Ballot! 133% over applied. if those extra 33% try again in 2C looks like it maybe 200% over applications for 2C??

Is Canberra really better? Should i still try Canberra or try Endeavor? Endeavor should have 89 places for 2C compared to Canberra 42 places only. Endeavor should still be balloting at 2C but better chances.. Anyone can enlightened me or anyone in Similar position about these 2 schools? Who is performing better? i heard Canberra has a 100% PSLE pass rate. which is good... cant get anything about Endeavor?

Backup still will be Northoaks or Sembawang Primary. Havent decided on this yet. 1 step at a time...

                    1 week more to go....

Split between Sembawang and Canberra primary. Any parent can provide any insightful information?

Sembawang pri will be less than 5 min walks from our future home while Canberra pri seems so hot that we can’t ignore it. But what makes it so hot ? Any parents with kids from Canberra primary like to enlighten me? Greatly appreciate any comment for me and wife to make an informed decision.
