I guess Sembawang parents not IT savvy… or not in this forum anyway. Well anyway to whomever still browsing and wondering tomorrow where to put your kid in 2Cs… i registered mine to Northoaks Primary online. Took a walk from my house and it was ok… but will buy a bicycle when the time comes.
Alright this primary school process been a pain but adios and all the best to all parents. And i think MOE should look into the 1km dist thing and make it even nearer. like 500m and lower.

RE: [Sembawang] Primary Schools
:frustrated: :frustrated: Wow Canberra at 2B already Ballot! 133% over applied. if those extra 33% try again in 2C looks like it maybe 200% over applications for 2C??
Is Canberra really better? Should i still try Canberra or try Endeavor? Endeavor should have 89 places for 2C compared to Canberra 42 places only. Endeavor should still be balloting at 2C but better chances.. Anyone can enlightened me or anyone in Similar position about these 2 schools? Who is performing better? i heard Canberra has a 100% PSLE pass rate. which is good... cant get anything about Endeavor?
Backup still will be Northoaks or Sembawang Primary. Havent decided on this yet. 1 step at a time...
1 week more to go.... -
RE: [Sembawang] Primary Schools
Thanks for the reply.
I went for a drive around the area and found that the schools are nearly the same distance from my house - Endeavor, Wellington and Northoaks. Northoaks seem the slighly furthest. 2 bustops away or another 100m than the rest.
My thoughts now are to try for Canberra at 2C as it is the nearest, although 42-43 spaces left. And i assume 2B also will be ballot. Probably means 2C will be over applied at least 150% onwards.
Backup will be Northoaks. I like the idea of new schools. TUR was only 50% last year. Which mean Teachers have more time on students?
Anyone have any comments on New School vs Older Schools? -
RE: [Sembawang] Primary Schools
Hi Everyone. I am a parent of a 2008 boy. So from where i am staying , blk 356 all the 5 schools in Sembawang are within 1km. So which school are you all registering your child in? I am having some 2nd thoughts now. Hope some parents who have kids in the respective schools can enlightened us.
At first i was thinking of Canberra Primary. Its the nearest. 100m away! But with 44-45 places left for phase 2C and last year 150%+ application rate. Also been reading lots of stress for a kid to be there. Any comments?
Endeavor another option. Still i believe will be balloting at phase 2C. But more spots higher chances? Should i go here instead?
Then i was thinking maybe try Sembawang Pri or Northoaks. Here looks like best chance of going in without headache. Settle in phase 2c. But are these school good enough or should i try Canberra or Endeavor first since most probably Sembawang Pri and Northoaks should have space left after 2C. And is going to a newschool like Northoaks better? newer teachers and less students more caring time? though Northoaks is a bit further than the rest.
Wellington i really not sure of. Cant really find anything on them?
SO Parents who are enrolling this year, which school you enrolling your child at? and why? And Parents of kids schooling already, any advise?
Any comments will be great. I triest sourcing other forums about school in Sembawang but none address all the schools in the area like this. or none is up to date... Ok :?: 2 more weeks to go to phase 2C... Help... :?: :?:
