between TJC and ACJC, which one will you choose for science course?

For this, I will choose based on distance.
Hey i just received my results today and i received 7A1s and 2B3s.. My nett score is 7 (English & CCA got B3 & i dont have HCL), so do you think i can appeal into NJC and get in..?

I don't think so sorry... NJC is already partial 5...

Aw man, but wouldnt they reserve places for students with no HMTL...? Oh then do you think I would have a chance of getting into ACJC Science?
I think you can try. If you try, you never know but if you don't try, the answer is no. I think it is better to go for it and put it as your first choice then spend time later thinking that of what could have happened if you continued with the JC you like the best. At least if you put it as your first choice, you have tried your best and won't have any regrets.

Hi sji guy, congrats in getting good results.

Personally, I dont encourage you to take MLEP program.
Firstly, I assume that you net point will be 3 if you wanna to take MLEP in HCI right?
Frankly speaking your chance in getting in is slim as many ppl who got net 3 also cant get in plus you didnt take hcl in o’s and got a b3 for chinese. Even if you got in, you might struggle as you have to compete with those who are stronger in chinese for your A’s.
So in my opinion, you shouldnt put hci as ur choice.

Wow that is really good results šŸ™‚ congrats . Nvr mind abt A2 for english , since i heard the paper was hard. I can report that my son's school has 37 ppl with 5A1s or more . Number of ppl who got less than 10 for L1R5 is 109 . 15 6-pointers

Hi this is for ACSI right ?
So at least 109 of them will make it to ACJC assuming that they all get 2 bonus points for CCA (plus the extra 2 from affiliation).

Any idea how many with 7 or below that makes it to year 5 IB (assuming 2 bonus points from CCA or HMT) ?

Hi guys, I'm new here and I'm just inquiring about if anyone knows about the Arts stream subject combination that VJC is offering because I missed the open house. Thanks šŸ™‚ And if it's possible, I would like to inquire about the same for TJC too!

EDIT: I have another question. For JC's if English Literature is a compulsory and I did not take EL Lit in secondary school, what are my chances of coping with the subject. If this piece of information is needed, my English grade for the O's is a one.

Hi everyone I'm new here too šŸ˜‚

I just received my results yesterday, and am currently torn between VJC and NJC, science stream. My raw L1R5 is 6 and nett 4 as I don't take HMT. The travelling time for both is about 45 min. I quite like NJC from what I saw, the facilities are really nice over VJC's :). And I'm also worried that I might not make it to VJ cos the COP is 4 over NJ's 5. Also, if I'm not very outspoken will it be better for me to go NJ instead of VJ (which is full of outgoing people- sorry, I don't mean to generalise! It's just the overall vibe. )? Thanks in advice everyone! šŸ™‚

Just finished my A levels and I took lit so I guess I am qualified enough to answer the second part of your question šŸ™‚ EL lit is not compulsory in secondary school for you to take in JC as far as I know, it might differ between schools though. However, the rigour and requirements for O Level and A level Lit is very different, so one who did well in O level may struggle in A levels but another who has never taken Lit in secondary school may do well. Although this kinda sounds like a general or standard answer, it depends on the individual really. A level lit requires in depth analysis of the literary piece given. The questions asked would be very general, for example, \"write a critical appreciation on the protrayal of love\", and you have to have your own opinions and thoughts (in your essay this would be like your topic sentence), support it with evidence in the text and literary analysis of your evidence. The H1 syllabus requires comparison of two poems, so your ability to pick up subtleties and nuances would have to be relatively strong, to give a more detailed analysis with regards to the differences/similarities between the poems.
That said, if you are able to handle it then do take it, because once you mastered the skill it is a subject that can be scored without much 'mugging' šŸ™‚

I understand some JCs allow students to do hybrid combination, like H2 Maths, H2 Chem, H2 Econs, H2 Geog.

I am wondering whether any student will do H2 Econs, H2 Geog, H2 Chem and H1 Maths instead ?

Does it makes sense for a student to do Maths in H1 but do a Science subject in H2?

Can the student still go into U and do BSc in Chemistry (for example) ?

Thanks.

also, can anyone who have gone through the music elective program gives some advice and insight as to what are the requirements, syllabus and
how the exam is conducted etc ?
thank you.
