Title: Books for 3-6 years old
Any good books for recommendation according to agegroups?
I’m currently interested in 2 yr olds and 6 yr olds category.
Plus…anybody have any idea what are the term for the following 2 types of books?
1. Books where there are different adventures depending on which choice you choose in which scenerio…eg Go to Pg 3 if you turn left, Go to Pg 5 if you turn right… this type of books.
2. Books where there is a ‘magnifying glass’ made of a colour translucent sheet. you placed over the book to look for hidden objects.

Preston Pig books - the main character is Preston Pig who always outsmarts the bungling Mr Wolf. The stories are hilarious and the illustrations very charming and funny. Me and my boy are always tickled pink when we read the books together

My son and I love Sandra Boyton’s books and Lift a flap books.
Sandra Boyton books like Moo Baa and La la la are very cute and funny and very nice to recite. Lift a flap books are very interactive…Fisherprice, Lamaze have some interesting ones. -
hi mincy and wwcookie,
thanks for the replies…both of you refer to toddler’s books, right?
i just placed my order for the following books…expected to receive them tomorrow…
- 2 Fisher price books (1 is lift a flap)
- 1 mickey mouse clubhouse (currently ds2’s fav character) books on shapes
- one Dr Seuss books
- another lift a flap book based on another one of ds2’s fav cartoon charactor
all for my 20 mth old.
still no idea what will interest my K2 boy. -
The Preston Pig books are split into 2 series - one is for toddlers with only a few words per page and one is for older kids with more words. Ah yes - Dr Seuss - thats another of my son’s all time fav authors. He has been reading them since he was a toddler and still enjoys them now (he’s in P1) - he gets really tickled by the ridiculous and nonsensical style and it is very fun to read out loud the rhyming sentences.

Any comments on http://www.amazon.com/Secret-Agent-Geronimo-Stilton/dp/0545021340/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1216524784&sr=1-1 books? Must I start from Book 1?

Hi jedamum,
Gernonimo Stilton series of books are a good read ! They are my son’s current favourite. He is primary one and he enjoys reading them. In fact, he can read the book again without finding it boring. Think this book draws its appeal to the exciting adventure stories that the mouse, Geronimo Stilton embarks on. It has very interesting highlights of the words to illustrate the meaning of the words itself eg. when you come across the word “classical music”, there are musical notes on the words, for the word “mouse”, there is a shadow of a mouse shadowing the word etc.
No, you need not start from book one as every book is about a different adventure. -
