Sun_2010:
Hi Sun_2010Hi 25hourmaid ,
Thanks for sharing, now you make me wanna go there NOW.
Planning to tmr, actual paln was the Bukit timah hill trek, but your pics have made me change my mind
But no way can pack such yummilicious food , sigh!
It's my pleasure to share those photos and tips, but I think you have to thank ksi and autumnbronze for I doubt I would post any photos if not for their request, though I did think of sharing some tips initially after the trip since I knew that ksi is planning on a trip there.
Haha, if this Maid No 1 can prepare those food, why not Maid No 2 over there? :lol:Sun_2010:
Believe ksi has already given you the link to the numerous SKP outlets in her previous reply. Now to get hold of the kites.
What is SKP ? where is it ?
I have seen some shops in United sq with kites...
But if location is anything to go by, chances are the prices of the neighourhood shops would be cheaper than those from SKP, followed by those from United Square.Sun_2010:
I know what you mean. Used to make those kites as a young girl too.HAve some experience making kites so long ago (played 2nd fiddle to brother) but not sure if they would take off now.
And again thanks

ksi, a thought just came to my mind. Why don't you team up with autumnbronze and organise a kite flying cum picnic session together at Marina Barrage since both of you were so tempted by the photos that I put up?

We can but autumnbronze enjoys her shroud of anonymity here so she may wish to preserve that.
Alternatively, we can arrange a day here for most of us to be there and we guess....whose who??? And if you are going again...I will look out for your \"Maidtalk\" bread and the NDP packaging for your picnic!!!! :celebrate: -

ksi, I just thought of something with regard to your girlโs suggestion to pitch a tent up on the field area. From my observation yesterday, I donโt think this is allowed, based on the following 2 reasons :
1) if tent pitching is allowed, how is it I did not see any tents when I was there yesterday despite the scotching sun?
2) A family was sitting on a flattened tent as their ground sheet.
And I am not surprised if pitching of tents is indeed not allowed, after all, Marina Barrage is also one of our latest touristsโ attraction, and can be quite unsightly if tents are allowed up in the field area.
Security is quite tight there too. Cisco and security guards were seen patrolling the place every now and then there I believe if any tents were spotted, the owners would have been asked to dismantle them.
So I think safer not to try, but to go earlier to reserve a good spot underneath the โsail like structureโ that I talked about.
