She has different allergies at different period of time :slapshead: we are still trying to find out what caused her frequent eczema flare up... currently we are tracking her diet by the eliminating method....
Is your DD allergic to caramel? Anyway, to be fair, not all chicken essence has caramel. You need to check the information on the bottle.Harlequin:
Yes, I was told that there is a link between eczema and sinusitis, allergic rhinosinusitis and asthma.
I wasn't even aware that there is caramel in chix essence :slapshead:
Have just decided starting tomorrow no more chix essence for her, will try for 2 weeks and see how it goes. :xedfingers:
Thanks for starting this thread... now that I am aware of it, it could be it!

The black chicken eggs are from black chickens, supposed to be more nutritious. They are also quite small.
May I know are the eggs also known as kampong eggs? Those little ones sold in pack of 6 in a circular plastic container? Are they more nutritious?Nebbermind:
Eggs from black chicken?! :scratchhead:
Ps. I found it Liao!
If I buy a kampong chicken from the market, it's meat is white, so it is a different kind of chicken from the black ones.
Am not sure what is the difference between eggs from a kampong chicken and free range chicken. I read somewhere that chickens which are allowed to run about produce a chemical which is beneficial to the brain but cannot find the article again.
I have used different kinds of chicken to double boil into essence. The taste is not the same. Some are sweeter and more fragrant. -

Hopefully you can find out what cause the flare up. I have seen children with eczema and they are so pitiful...

Sometimes we tend to overlooked things that we are so used to, DDs have been drinking chic essence since they started eating semi solid food, we cooked porridge with chix essence, my mum's recipe, said it's good for health and immune system, never stopped since unless we couldn't get hold of it when traveling.
I really hope it's caused by chic essence, so that the search can stop :xedfingers:
Like you have mentioned, our generation are already very well nourished, don't really need the chix essence. -
Actually can make your own chicken essence. Nowadays NTUC finest and extra sells Singapore bred Sakura kampong chicken. I buy that and cut out the drum sticks/thighs, wings for cooking, and the rest to make chicken essence for DD. They taste supper yummy, very different from the store bought ones.
Re the link for eczema and chicken. DD’s CC teacher’s hubby will get eczema flare ups whenever she eats normal chicken outside and at home. but when he went for skin prick test, it shows that he is not allergic to chicken. But he swear that he gets eczema every time he eats chicken (and he loves them cannot resist). But once he ate the real kampong chicken in malaysia at a relative’s kampong (home bred), he had no eczema outbreak. Then he started to test out the different chickens, his conclusion is that he is allergic to the antibiotics that they inject the chickens with, not the chicken itself!
So he told us he can eat Sakura Chicken in NTUC with no eczema flare, which are fed with lactobacilus, which should be able to reduce the amount of antibiotics that the chicken need. So now I normally buy Sakura Chicken for normal cooking, or the singapore bred sakura kampong chicken if I want to make chicken essence as the chicken is leaner. -
Harlequin, you’ve probably tried this, but could it be dairy? My friend’s daughter had severe eczema as a baby until they decided to stop all dairy products. Poor girl is also allergic to everything under the sun and is also celiac, so they had a tough time figuring out what foods would cause allergic reactions and what would cause eczema.

i still take them. Some times I make my own chicken soup.

How arrogant to demand that someone show you the proof of the goodness of chicken essence! You can jolly well google for the proof yourself! It is your own loss if you are so stubborn and cynical.
I have been in nursing in Intensive Care for well over20 years, and I can attest to the rapid healing and recovery of patients whom I always advise to take chicken essence.
The little bottle of chicken essence may look innocuous, but I can assure you it is chockful of restorative nutritive elements, many of which are not understood yet.
Taking commercial essence of chicken is not the same as home brewed chicken soup. The latter is usually very oily. -
Eu Yang San chicken essence on promo tomorrow (30/12/13) last day. 25% discount. Time to stock up for Term 1 of school

My children depends a lot on chicken essence due to the hectic school activity schedule. They like it and it works well for them. -

Hi. Can share how to make chicken essence? Thanks.
I remembered my confinement lady made for me then but I didn't learn from her. Now, regret.
Recently, my friend told me that she let her dd tried taking chicken essence and it helps her to concentrate and sit longer to do homework. Like my ds3, her dd usually day dream while doing homework. So I think of trying on my ds too and if it works, why not?
