Hello! Can I ask for some advice? I tried to use the thermal pot to cook rice a few weeks back, and it was disastrous… I usually cook brown rice, and I used the same method as I cook soup… I cook in the morning, put into the pot, and when I got home in the evening… the rice was awful…

Has anyone tried cooking rice before, can you teach me? thanks!!

Yes, cooked in 1.5L thermos and 1L insert onto 4.5L thermos.
          All ok.
Water must not be the same amount as in preparing in cooker rice.

As I used 1.5L thermos pot to cook 1 cup or less rice, by evening rice is cold.

Since then I prepare it on top pot 1L on my 4.5L pot w soup in, rice still warm when serve around 8pm.

This is the insert I bought from. It fit well on 4.5L thermos brand.

Not much to save actually. I used it to porridge and half boil egg for my gal.

For a family of 2 adults and 2 young kids, what would be a good size to get? Would use the thermal pot for soup and lor bah type of dishes.

I find my 5l pot just nice for 2a2c, but portion of soup is not the very big bowl lah.. I use it for 1 dish meals like stew and porridge also... Depends also on how much ingredients you put to boil soups. I used to have a 7 l too 🙂 for boiling huge chicken for chicken rice. and for times where I boil enough stock for a wk..
