Slight correction, even if you are balloted out in phase 2C(S), you can still request MOE for a seat in a school that still has vacancies left. So that you don’t get posted right across the island somewhere too ulu for you. This is before the final remainder of seats is thrown open to foreigners at phase 3.May I know how ALPS student care is restrictive compared to other student care?
Other in-school student care have more free play/activity/study time?
ALPS <1km will have balloting this year again.
If you are balloted out in Phase 2Cs, you can still choose.
Probably the choice will be either Cantonment or Gan Eng Seng.
Only after you are balloted out in Phase 2Cs, you need to wait to be posted by government in Phase 3. -
I've heard that student care in ALPS only allow student to participant in the activities schedule by the centre.
Not allow to do homework, etc.
Hence, I thought of asking around to confirm the saying. :heresmyfish: -
I see. They have scheduled homework time from 3pm to 4pm, and activity time may be from 4:30 to 5:30 or earlier.
Teachers may not ask each kid whether they have homework and completed or not.
Thanks, zac’s mum for correction. -
Dear fellow parents,
Could you kindly share your thoughts for those who have children in the school for more than one year? Am deciding between Alexandra Primary (1 Km) and Radin Mas (2Km and trying for PV). Any insights would be more than welcome, as so far I have not seen any registration or open house which I can go visit and check out for ALPS.
Many thanks! -
Hi
I have 1 brand new ALPS boys school pants size 27 & 2 PE attire (Size M) meant for girls that was wrongly bought by mistake.
Selling it away cheap.
PM me if you keen. -

My rule is to go for the best school that you have the best chance of getting into. RMPS is a good school. You have a chance to get into ALPS at a latter stage but what if you are balloted out? You won't be able to even go to RMPS then. The competition at ALPS is bound to be quite stiff.
Hi All,
I'm new to Kiasu Parents...I'm in dilemma in registration of primary school for my child to enter in 2020. I'm an old student of Radin Mas Primary School (RPMS) and I'm likely to get in at phase 2A(2). However, I'm keen in Alexandra Primary School (ALPS) which is within 1km with the phase of 2C.

Plus, the distance between the two schools as well as from your house isn’t likely to be far apart. It should be a straightforward enough decision.

hi tourKTM
For this statement “ALPS <1km will have balloting this year again. “ May I know is referring to 2018 registration or the coming 2019 registration?
I’m thinking what is the chances for SC below 1km since this year should be lower birth rate? Hehehe -
Seems like ALPS will only have lesser vacancies @ phase 2C and rising number of applicants...
I belong to the SC 1-2km category. Based on the risk matrix, seems like My child will have a better chance to ballot for Zhang De instead. Views?
