      West Spring Primary School
      last edited by

      LFC4ever:
I understand that the school will have its uniform ready by 2016 but how about the school anthem(school song)?

      Dear LFC4ever,

The school is in the midst of the composition of the school song in collaboration with Lorraine Tan, a Singapore singer and song writer. Lorraine has been engaged as we believe that a school song must evoke in West Springers a strong sense of pride for their school, when sung over the generations.

Lorraine has penned more than 150 original songs.

In 2011, she composed and sung the National Day Parade song : β€œ My Singapore β€œ

In 2013, Lorraine was commissioned by Nparks to compose the official theme song to celebrate Singapore's 50th year of greening. This song was aired on Channel 5, 8 & CNA as a TV interstitial. She celebrated National Day in a meaningful way with My Singapore Part 3 in 2013: \" Shine Singapore\".
The beneficiary of this fund raising project was The Straits Time School Pocket Money Fund ( SPMF). In My Singapore 2013, she composed another original National Day song, and produced a music video. This project culminated in a National Day charity fund-raising concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall on 6th August 2013. Proceeds from the sale of her CDs and concert tickets went to the SPMF.
It is also Lorraine's belief to give children a platform to learn and enjoy music and music video filming with her projects. As such, a few students with good vocals will be selected to sing along with her at a recording studio for the West Spring school song.
The whole school song composition process will take a few months. Hence, we anticipate that West Spring should have its school song ready by the start of term 4 of this year. πŸ˜„

        Hi,

I am a newbie here. My son is born in 2008 and will be registering for P1 next year. I am in dilemma which school to choose. After reading so many good reviews from mommies out there, I really wish that I can enrol my kid in West Spring Primary School too. πŸ™‚ Any high chance if I can get my son in this school? I am staying in Segar Road. TIA! ^^

I think there could be another ballot this year for the school admission. It has already gained an excellent reputation.

Hi I am happy that my child is in this school. Since you live in Segar I think the chances should be good as it is within 1km furthermore I believe the school will increase its intake for next year after a successful intake for last year. Last year the pioneer batch intake is 210 this year might be 240 just my own guess. The school engage parents in a lot of their activity and events and my child love going to school. Hope to see your child in WSPS.

                  Dear 2008 mummy,

We look forward to having you and your child join our West Spring family next year! :grphug: πŸ˜„

At the moment, it's still too early to officially release the total number of P1 classes for 2015. Do keep a lookout for more P1 registration 2015 information on MOE's website. πŸ˜„

We are still looking into the revised school website and enhancing its security features. As such, we've not been able to upload the Step Up notes sooner.

Actually I think the blue building would be much cooler to use as daily classroom rather then the present orange building which is a bit hot…

                        Dear Tare1919,

The school building structure has been designed as lower primary block (yellow / orange block) with a lower primary staff room and an upper primary block (blue block), with an upper primary staff room, by the architects. This is one of the innovative unique infrastructural features of West Spring, which is not found in other primary school here. Each of these blocks has specific special rooms meant for the lower primary and upper primary students. When the pioneer batch of West Springers move on to P3, they will be occupying the blue block then. πŸ˜„
