      mummy so kiasu,

The Sec 1s use the Mathematics ShingLee textbook, 6th Edition.

Hi my boy is in sec 1IP this year. Does anyone have a good Chinese tuition teacher(come to my house ) to recommend? we stay in the east. Seems like the current fee for 4 lessons are $300 which is quite steep. Appreciate your help in advance.

Recently I have heard from my son mentioned about a bully case in his class. I don't know why would this happen but I think boys tend to be more rough and they like to act like hero.

Even for my younger son, he was being bullied by a boy in the school bus just a few days ago. I told the boy off very firmly and wrote a letter to inform the teacher. I guess boys need excitment and they are not sensible when come to play. But of course, I also make sure my son never provoke him or else it's difficult to judge.

recently there’s an issue, i complained to the form teacher, the thing settle but that boy not happy, ask my boy why he tell me. Yesterday i saw his pants very dirty, when i questioned him, he told me that boy and another friend try to unzip his pant but at the end they only manage to take out his belt, the pants get dirty when he struggling with them. Actually i want to let the teacher know but he told never mind, said later will cause more trouble…it’s true when there r all boys, they will act roughly.

I totally understand how you feel. It's like you don't look for trouble but trouble will look for you. I ask ds2 to avoid those trouble makers but they will find you. There's no where to hide. So I told him to protect himself. If he's not wrong, must inform teacher or told them off. Ds2 in primary so teachers play an important role.

Ds1 in sec, diff rules. The boy being bullied in the class had funny / weird character so he became the target. I am not saying yr ds is like that. Maybe let yr boy handle the situation as it is part of the growing path. Else you may want to talk to the teacher in private and discuss the whole issue.

I believe you are referring to New Syllabus by Shinglee. I already got hold of one from Popular bookstore. Son's school does not used textbook but I think it is good to have one. Thanks.

Hi, I understand that VS allowed 160 places for Sec 1 IP this year. Does anyone know how many classes/ students VS eventually admitted this year for their IP? What’s the cut-off point for IP this year? Thanks.
