PSLE 2009 RESULTS!!

Hmmm, this is interesting. I can understand if there's a preset minimum COA to qualify. I know this is hypothetical: What happens then if that school's whole cohort meet its preset COA and all decide to opt into the school. The selection system would then seems unduly unfair to students from non-affiliated schools. There should be a cap.[
I can confirm it is preset. It is the same for MGS & SCGS for the past 2 years. If it is based on percentage, the COA cannot be same with a nice integer like 200 & 220 for every year !!
I have called up both SCGS & MGS and they both confirmed it is preset !!
This should clear your doubt !! -

Good point if true. Then I would also like to know why MOE needs 20 days to sort this out!
So you see, the algorithm needs no human intervention & all places should be already allocated by the time you read this !!
So, anyone knows why does MOE needs 20 days to inform us of the postings ?
Thanks -

Ah, now you know why Primary schools with affiliated good Sec schools are so hot during P1 registration. -

They accept more students in Sec class than Pri class, but if all qualified, then all will proceed automatically to the Sec school meaning the number of places left for non-affiliated would be less -

They need to print over 100,000 result certificates and even laminate them! [this is manuall done(they also have to check for error)]
An organization like MOE should have machines that can print result certificates & laminate it at amazing speed !!
You think they use printers like our home used ones ? Hahaha -

Laminate is PSLE cerficate, it is 48500, not 100K. And posting result is nothing to do with laminating cert or result slip.
I guess they need to sort out DSA appeal cases first (manual process), then finalised exact no. of vancacies for each sch, feed this info into the computer program for the algorithm to allocate & sequence. Then MOE would have to inform the respective sch who are the name list, their choice no. -

AH SO! The COA cutoffs gap between non-affiliated and affilated students are VERY WIDE for some schools! Don't you also think that a system such as this with no cap is unduly unfair to non-affilated students? Doesn't this also make a mockery that selection is merit over choice?
