      Hi

Can i find out if it is suitable for girls who wear spectacles to take up Rhythmic Gymnastics as a CCA? If so, how do they manage? Have to remove the specs?

Dear Parent, My daughter is 5 yrs old. She is in the junior class. I don't recall anyone wearing glasses in her class. I think the instructors are the best person to answer your questions. The coach herself is on contact lenses. She should be able to provide you with a first person account. Hope this helps.

My gal is 5yo turning 6 soon.

The challenge for me is always what I should enroll her in… AG or RG?

Do we go by interest or what her physique is best suited for?

Forgot to add that I prefer RG for the girls usu grow up to be tall and slender but my girl’s physique seems cut out for AG… She is rather short but quite strong.

                  Hi.

                  You can try AG first.
If you try RG first, it may be difficult to switch to AG later on.
However, gymnasts from AG switching to RG have great advantages.

                  Cheers!

At what point do you switch to RG? 🙂 I heard from some parents that most gym schools specialise in AG or RG exclusively and not both... So I'm concerned that my gal will just be in the AG track solely :scratchhead:

                      Hi

                      Depend on your child.
You cannot do both competitively at the same time. They are very different, like TKD and WuShu.
Why are you concern about that? We cant have everything.
So choose one, and if your child want to switch, up to him/her.

                      Cheers!

                        Hi Gymkraft,

I'm thinking of starting gal on AG since you rightly mentioned that AG provides the foundation. My only concern is that if I enrol her in an AG school, there's a possibility of her doing AG all the way since the school I'm interested offers AG only (RG schools are very limited anyway if I'm not wrong).

Since the AG school doesn't offer RG, the instructor might train her in AG all the way. Therefore if I'm really interested to put her in RG, at which point in time should I switch to a RG school? Eg, 6 mth ? 1 yr? Etc

                        Sorry I'm a novice at this 🙂
