I’m at prime Gym now for trial lesson. Equipment wise they look good. Does anyone know where marymount convent girls get their coaches from?

There is a gym not too bad at far east shopping centre. Affordable price as well, you might want to check it out, this gym is affiliated to a few cards that offers discount.

How come rhythmic gymnastics and figure skating are in the olympics, but not ballet? Isn’t figure skating just dancing on ice? And there really isn’t much difference between rhythmic gymnastics and dance, is there? So why are they considered sports while dance isn’t?

                In primary schools here -

Ballet is classified under Performing Arts (dance), not Sports.

In contrast : R gym and A gym, are classified under Sports category.

Figure Skating is not a Cca, offered in any primary school, here.
Sg doesn’t have winter season : no cold, ice snow melting natural environment, to practise skating.

no need cold season la, skating is done in the rink. there are a few in singapore i think.

i have no idea abt the reasons behind the classification but i suppose cos ballet is mainly performed on stage so it’s closer to being a performing art than it is a sport?

Hi, I'm new to this thread, so delayed response.

You probably know by now that this is the JSA selection trials for AG. Was your girl successful? Would be interested to know more about JSA training, if you could share 🙂

                        Fengi:

Hi my gal is turning 4T this August. She started going to bishan sport hall for AG early this yr. I found the coach too young n inexperienced. Its kind of waste of time.

I stay at bishan, bisham sport hall is very convenience to me. I notices there are few other coaches conduct their classes there. Can anyone recommend a good school that conduct class there for 4T.?

                        THanks in advance.

Hi. May I know which gym school or coach did your gal join? I'm interested to send my 6yo there as well due to convenient location. Mind to share the duration and fees? TIA 😄

                        Hi Fengi & SAHM2013
You can approach the sports council office at bishan sports hall (6352 6631) for:
                        a) learn-to-play prog run by sports council themselves (AG only)
                        b) the gym schs that rent the hall for their practices (RG & AG) (not sure if they will give you if you call over phone, cos no obligations to provide info)

Above to try out gymnastics for your child. If however you are looking for competitive track, will be good to evaluate coaches/school and that this venue is not exclusive, meaning venue close for training if there are competitions. Also SC takes priority in rental timing. HTH.
