I did badly for my psle...only 226.... I need some help..Is there a chance for me to go to chung cheng(yishun) with an COP of 230? or prebyterian high? with an COP of 229? is there any chances?

Could u all give me suggestion on what school i should go to. i live in the north.

you can try presbyterian high but chung cheng yishun ... the cop is v.high and ur chances of getting in are slim. :?

You can try Evergreen also.. cop 221 and Mayflower COP 222

225 should be for affiliate. Cos my ds sch affiliate cop for 2009 also 225. Honestly, some of the choices should be cop below 200 so that there is at least one that the kid can go into. Otherwise moe will just post kid to any sch with vacancy near home.

my ds got into express with a score of 200. he wont be able to get into his affiliated secondary school since the school's COP is 225. does this mean i should not even list it as his first choice?

          schools in our list include:
          pierce cop 208
          monfort cop 206
          holy innocent cop 219
          guangyang cop 203
          chong boon cop 190
          bartley cop 193
          ankss cop 227
          mayflower cop 222
          beatty cop 217

or should i be looking at cop ranging from 188 upwards?

          appreciate your advice thanks!

normally COP for affiliated primary school tends to be lower. so when you say COP of 225, is it for affiliated or non-affiliated primary schools?

if your ds's score is 200, then i think you should not consider those with cop >205. Although COP may drop, but I doubt it will drop so much.

            Hi,

I live in the north-east area(I guess…), in Hougang and have a score of 249. Any not-to-bad schools can I get into that is not too far from Hougang and is an all girls school? TIA! ^^

Hi, 226 is consider a good result, don't be sad.

Some suggestions on the schools you may want to consider. I recommended these schools as their MEAN and MEDIAN scores are close to your PSLE score. Do not choose those schools with high UPPER score but low MEAN and MEDIAN.

You can use the MOE application to help you choose the schools,
              http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_AdvSearch.asp

If you have in mind which CCA to join, you may want to let us know, so that I can recommend those schools good in those CCAs you are interested.

              1) AHMAD IBRAHIM SECONDARY SCHOOL (Yishun)
              2) EVERGREEN SECONDARY SCHOOL (Woodlands)
              3) DEYI SECONDARY SCHOOL (AMK)
              4) WOODLANDS RING SECONDARY SCHOOL (Woodlands)
              5) ORCHID PARK SECONDARY SCHOOL (Yishun)

              Cheers

how do i go about finding out the Mean and Median of secondary schools ?

              many thanks

Yes the cop for his affiliated school is 225 and for non affiliation is 248,so I think really no hope of him getting in since his score is only 200. should I skip his affiliated school in my 6 choices or should i still indicate as my 1st choice? But if he does get in cos of CCA etc, will it be a stretch for him ESP if others are far stronger than him? So many factors to worry about 😞

amongst the following, which do you know has a good environment and is nurturing? Chong boon, guangyang, Bishan park, Bartley. All these schools have cop of <200. My son was really keen to get into pierce but the cop is 208. We are at Bishan/Thomson areA and bus or mrt are preferred mode of transport.

hi, need some advice on choice:

My friend’s son got 203, choosing following schools…
                    -Bowen
                    -Hougang Sec
                    -Guang Yang
                    -Deyi
                    -Yio CHu Kang
                    -Chong Boon
                    -Pierce Sec
                    Need a school with encouraging+motivating environment+teachers…
coz he’s easily distracted+not motivated to study type…
So real headache to choose, coz not much choices…
Any comments on the above schools/O level results & students’ behaviour? Thanks in advance!!

                      My thought.

If your child can study under STRESS and STRETCH himself to compete with others (there are successful case), then talk to the affiliated school principal and seek his/her advice.

Personally, I will skip the affiliated school as I rather study in a environment where my peers are about my standard.

                      2) GuangYang lower COP is 203, hence you may have a challenge getting in.

                      3) How about Whitley Sec, lower COP is 195.

hihi, forgot to mention considering Serangoon Garden Sec also…coz it’s nearest to where they stay, but worried whether the school is ok, in terms of students’ behaviour etc…

Any comments on this school??Thanks in advance!!
