If i get 88 for math, 92 for english, 94 for MT and 92 for science, Is it possible to get to RI. Based on estimated mean and SD, i get 283 but is it accurate? :?

Not sure about the T score. But pretty sure that you will get into RI with these kind of scores.

        Hi Vikaesh,

Agree w/ Crazydad. Sure bet for RI. However, 88 for Maths highly unlikely to hit 283.

Exactly CrazyDad. Vikaesh, your name could be plastered on the front page of The Straits Times. WITH A TEXT ABOVE SAYING \"HIGHEST SCORE FOR PSLE\" on it... GOOD LUCK! 😄 :celebrate:

WOW! that would be really unexpected! Hope it happens! Wish me luck everyone. The answer to this question will be found out on the 26 November 2009! [nerve-wrecking! 😐 ]

Is this your Prelim result? if it is and you are from a say GEP school, then you are sure to go in.
I know a principal (he does not know me) used to ask his student to multiply the prelim result by 0.78 to get the T-score. So for the few years while he in charge of that school, their PSLE result always 15-25 points lower than the prelim T-score.
Thanks god he is now gone. So hope that your school is not the same one.
            :x

I knew of 3 kids who get A* for every subject (in different years). Their T-scores are in the range of 270 to 272 only. The Top students in those years I think have T-score of 280 to 285.

Therefore, if the Top T-score is 290 then getting a 270 will not be a problem which also means going to RI (assuming the cut-off is raised to 265)

RI cut off point is only 261

                  Hi atutor2001,

Your standards and expectations very high leh. To me, 270 to 272 is excellent regardless of top student score of 280 to 285.

Agree with you. 270 and above should be considered excellent. Because for the top 4 school, the median of their T-score is around 266-7 and mean also around there. Which means 50% of the students having T-score 267 and below.

So in total, for RI, 99% of students has T-Score range from 263 to 270

In RGS sec1 this year, there are total 13 classes, 3 out of this 13 classes are consists of high scorers and GEP pupils. I think the percentage of students have 270 above is much higher than 1%. My dd got all A* for her last year’s PSLE, her T-score is slightly below 270.
