Both the selection tests for RI and HCI fall on the same day i.e. 9th July 2011.

Does anybody know whether there is any alternative if one is being selected for both? Is it possible to ask the person-in-charge to arrange the selection date on 23 July(RI) instead?

Are they held at the same time? If so, call up the schools to see if it's possible to change the date for one.

Encountered a clash of dates between NUSH 2nd Round Camp and HCI. As NUSH 2nd involved testing in a group, it was not possible to change. We called up HCI admin office to explore possibility of changing the date but was turned down curtly. No prizes for guessing which one we gave up. Interestingly, we met someone whose ds was able to go for both. We found out they managed to change HCI date after speaking to someone higher up at HCI.

Anyway, no regrets choosing NUSH - ds is having a great time there!

Good luck to your son, RSS. Are you waiting for him at the school? 3 hours is a long wait.

Waiting for him at coffee bean in ginza plaza. I think there is going to be a big jam at 12pm picking the kids up.

just feel that the schools whose selection test / camp / interview are ‘purposely’ uncompromising year after year … okay got to make a choice, and it would be much better to choose after the offers are made rather than choosing whose test to forego …

By 12pm today, ds will have completed 3 dsa tests, one each for acsi, ri and nush. He is left with ri interview and hopefully nush camp then the focus will be on the psle.

I used to think it was pure coincidence but may be it's planned so that kids have to make a choice even at the initial stages.

Schools should brief their receptionists/office staff well because the initial impression created there often determines which school the parents are willing to forego if dates clash.
