Blur Dad:
My son has not much interest in Chinese at all even though he is in a SAP school. That's why we never opted for HCI but tried NJC instead.jtoh:
Hi blurdad, if your son's Mandarin conversation skills 'cannot make it', do you think HCI is a wise choice for him?
Hi jtoh
Good question. Attended HCI open house, quite impressive. My son quite \"OK\" with it.
Base on different choices available, not many to choose from. He wants to go to boy's school. So for IP/IB, the choices are RI, HCI and ACSI. His CA1+SA1 result not so good, below 80%, chances to get CO from RI is quite low. As for ACSI, not that easy also, ACSI only takes in 90 boys for DSA to their IB programme. Take into consideration that they have to give priority to ACS(P) and ACS(J) boys. The other choice that should not miss is HCI.
I remember last year that there was one parent feel regarded and had to say sorry to his/her DS for not applying HCI as DS could not get CO from RI. Most of his/her DS's classmate were awarded CO and he is one of the fews who did not get any. So quite a greate impact to him.
You might say that this would encourage DS to work harder for the PSLE and get good result to enter his dream school via S1 posting, I think my DS is not that type and do not wish my DS has to go through this. So should not miss any chance.

Hi all, here are two questions I gather.
(1) How important is IRS project done at P5 to DSA or affecting over performance for for DSA application?
(2) GE students who did not get DSA offer but use T-score to gain administration to Independent IP sch, will they still be given EESIS if their T-score miss the COP?
Anyone know? -
Zann:
On the day of PSLE results, the GE students will also receive the slip stating whether they qualify for EESIS or not.(2) GE students who did not get DSA offer but use T-score to gain administration to Independent IP sch, will they still be given EESIS if their T-score miss the COP?

My answer to your questions base on the base my best knowledge.
1) very little.
2) Yes. According to the GE bench during the DSA talk. They mentioned that as long as the GE student able to meet the require T-score(normally around 240++) and pass the GE attitude assessment and Social Study. Then the student will be able to remain their EESIS. Plus he/she has study at a SBGEP school, either it is IP or IB or O-level does not matter.

If I didn’t remember wrongly, the kids have to be enrolled in an IP school. So, they wont be under 'O’lvl track…

Blur Dad:
EESIS cut-off point is 260 last year (I heard from a mainstream kid who just missed the COP so had to pay full fee for indept IP school). Is there any diff in the COP of EESIS for GEP and mainstream? :scratchhead:

EESIS (Entrance Edusave Scholarships for Independent Schools) is for independent schools, which can be IP or O level schools. -
