Primary 5... and after reading this thread, I'm shaping up to be verykiasu2012!!
haha! You should take Little Boy to visit the schools. It'll give him (and you) if those are schools you want to consider.
Hi Chenonceau, I didn't visit RI and HCI. vk2010 visited the two schools - MANY MANY TIMES.  :lol:jtoh:

You guys are a very bad influence on me. You've gone and put TEMPTING ideas in my head and my Little Boy is already so stressed... Oh dear.
verykiasu2010... what did you think of RI vs HCI?
How old's Little Boy? -
Mum1113:
It's just those types of high tea styles of food. But not too bad esp if you'd rushed there without much of a breakfast, or didn't have time for lunch. haha!
:whut: Buffet spread during open house, I am surprise...went to NUSH last year and didnt notice, maybe too engrossed with checking.phankao:
I brought my p4 & p6 to HCI with the 9month-old baby myself. Then we ate the buffet lunch. haha. Not so great, but better than nothing. Didn't attend talks. My p6 wasn't interested. We watched the performances and went around the cCA displays.
I remember NUSH's buffet spread was nicer somewhat. haha.
Must plan properly this time to make a fruitful trip this year. Many helpful tips here, thanks ! :lovesite: -
Mum1113:
O I C. I did not find the info on their website. So this is like inside info. :hugs: DS would be interested, yes.
Yes Tisha...that is what parents were told when SST made introductions talks to P6 parents at ds school. Your kid interested in SST ?tisha:
Is SST Open House also on 21 may?

 we super kiasu lah, arrive super early, park nicely, walked around, talked to the students and observed how they carry themselves, listened to talks, (DS took notes), and the P recognised us and said \"wah u come again, kiasu\" ... :rotflmao:
verykiasu2010... what did you think of RI vs HCI?
Go Go Go Chenonceau. Then next year you can be the senior KSP to provide advice to the others
The open house are really eye-openers  . I must admit I was really surprised by the marketing effort of the schools. Having said that, must go beyond the surface of first impression to get to the crux of school life in that school.
Of all, DS enjoyed the RI open house the most. There are so many fun things there - the showcase of many science experiments at the science hub (eg. growing crystals, light....); the showcase at geography hub (eg. tornado and earthquake); the games stores from the uniform groups; etc. etc. That itself is like an educational tour. Of course, that does not mean it is the choice school, but must admit they did a pretty good marketing job. -

Tinkerbelle:
This Year Gym Championship Very Tough ....
Hi funx3,
Your DD is truly impressive!! Where does she find time to practice gym & dance, as well as her studies? Guess she must have very good time management skills. Definitely not an easy task.
With gym, your DD can even consider RGS during the DSA exercise. A friend's DD DSAed with gym last year and was accepted. She was approached by a RGS 'talent scout' during the National Championships and subsequently, RGS invited her parents & her (plus other identified achievers) for tea with the P.
Good luck to your DD with her upcoming Gym championships. :celebrate:
She Up Against, if I'm Not Mistaken at Least 3 National Team Gymnasts who's the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Winners in the last 2 years. But We Compete in the Spirit of Sports .... Already Told My Gal, Win Medal or Not, Mummy is Already Proud of Her .... Just Try to Score As Near to them As possible ....
And Thanks Very Much for your Well Wishes .... Esp the LUCK Part, Think we Need Loads of It ....
Heard RGS is Very stringent in their Sports-DSA .... They Want Good PSLE Results As Well ....
Heard Last year DSA-Sport Gals Accepted is in the 262 to 265 Region!
So Whether DSA or Not, with their Results alone is Good Enough to Enter RGS Already ....
How About Your Friend's Gal, Is She a High Achiever Academically, Apart from Being an Excellent Gymnast?
