ApronMama:
AFter the Hast test, there is a waiting time for results. If do well, will be shortlisted for phase 2 which is an interview. The interview came as late as 24 Aug last year and by then some schools already make their dsa offer. The DSA offer used to come around PSLE oral days and many parents last years were praying that they could delay in order not to affect the emotion of the kids during PSLE oral. My ds received his just the day before PSLE oral and guess what, they just can't help not to talk about it on their oral days. Not sure whether this will happen again this year.
So how much time is given to parents/kids to make firm decision to accept CO ?
Esp those with multiple COs, will surely be too happy with this Happy problem. -

Understand you only need to submit your choice by mid or end October, after taking the PSLE paper. So, in fact, there is quite a period for you to dream and think about itApronMama:

Those school with shooting CCA DSA like Ahmad Ibrahim which she donn't like and RGS has no DSA for shooting. Furthermore she only pickup shooting this year at SSS not as a CCA in her current school.jtoh:
Hi need some advice here. My dd is currently taking advance shooting cse in the sports school. They are setting up a new shooting academy and invited my dd to DSA. I'm worried about her future if she did not shine in either the sports or her O level. But she likes the shooting very much and has no confidence to get into RGS to join their shooting CCA. What should I do?
How serious is your dd about shooting and is she sure that she wants to pursue it for the next 4-6 years? If she is, then perhaps she could try out for the Sports School. I don't know how strong SSS is academically, but they do offer IB as well don't they?
If she just intends to pursue shooting as a CCA and represent the school, then maybe a mainstream school may be better. There are several other schools which offer DSA through Shooting. You might want to try out for these as well although applications may have closed already.
d
RGS has shooting as DSA this year. -
My DD’s classmate – GEP, overall 89% applied to RGS and her whole family has been invited to have tea with the principal !

But good for the ego and self esteem mah. Some see it as trophy for collection...never one too many!Nebbermind:

Yes, yes, I knew some GEPers who scored >90% for SA1 and confirm going to RI and yet apply DSA for HCI, ACSI and NUSH.
Someday they can tell others....been there, done that!
Just to a check, how many GE parents and GE students only apply DSA for one school? None, I think.
In my dd's year, at least two of her classmates applied for only ONE school. They were that sure that was the only school they wanted.
