My daughter attended the GAT test on 28th june 2011. She has not received any email from RGS yet! Has she gotten in or not? Will they be sending emails tomorrow?

1) CA1+SA1 >80% - No need to take GAT test. Need to go for one interview only. (Then go to BiBi Baba and buy uniform..haha)

For the mainstream RI DSA process

it is as follow :

For e.g. a student apply for math domain
1st step - Take GAT
2nd step - If perform well in GAT and short listed, then go for half day selection test. Which is a 3 hours test paper.

3rd step - go home and wait for result.


If no news after taken GAT, that means not short listed.

After selection test is done, they will inform you asap you are successful or not

This is confirmed correct as at 2010 because my DS went through it

BD[/quote]Mainstream students don't need interview. They prove their worth via the selection test. The questions in the 3 hour paper was described by many to be \"out of this world\" type. Given a choice, many would prefer the interview than to do the test. For GEPpers, they have over the Pri 5 & Pri 6 altogether 18 months to hopefully ensure an average score of 80% at the uniform test / exams set by GEP Branch.

To the question : No interview immediately after the test, nor after the test. If the performance in the test meets the criteria, a CO will be coming along.

300 pages back in this thread, :yikes: which is for last year batch of DSA, it was mentioned that there was no interview for mainstream for RI, just written test only. From RI website this year, no mention of interview also for mainstream.

But last year on RI web site, it did not mentioned the \"Half Day Selection\" test.

Let see is there any interview for this year shortlisted applicants.

last two years website and this year website by RI-DSA say the same thing. No interview for for mainstream. I am very sure because my DS is from mainstream and he is now in RI together with his mainstream and GEP friends from the same pri school

Thanks DVL for the sharing regarding the domain specific selection test. Did you son get a co in the end? I think 3hrs of test for 1 single subject is really long. I'm sure it is tough but would it be way beyond p6 level? The email from RGS also mentions that Critical & creative thinking will also be tested. Is it something similar to HAST?


Dd is going for the selection this sat. We're super curious now :lovesite:

it is way beyond P6 level, beyond SMOPS and beyond RI World Math (for math domain)...and similarly for other subject domain. I shared before, last year some students 'geng' to enter DSA under MT domain ..... and got a rude shock on the type of question asked in the selection test for Chinese MT !!!! (of course did not get CO)
