Well, She Got Outstanding Grade for Her Grade 8 Exam Last Year ....
So, In Mummy's Eye .... She's Always Good ! :hugs: :hugs:
      πŸ˜‰ πŸ˜‰

Cool! So does NAFA also give out High-Scorer Awards for the Dance? They do that for chinese music.

For SOTA, she can go for both March or June, up to her..

High-Scorer Awards for the Dance? Not to my Knowledge.
NAFA's Chinese Dance Std is Always Very High. To What I Know, the Lowest Grade Scored is Excellent in My Gal's Batch.

From What I Heard, My Gal's Batch (consisting of P6, Sec 1 students) may B chosen to represent NAFA in this year's CSTD (Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing) Competition. They have won 1st place in the previous CSTD competition 2 years ago with their Dance item.

With PSLE at Year End, and Inter-school Championship in Apr for Her Gym, (and Probably S'pore Open in Jun), Don't think Have Time to Go for So Many Auditions ....

But I have planned to let Her Visit the DSA schools that she might B interested in, when they Have open house, etc so that she will B aware of what is offered in each school ....
And Make her Preference Choice Later ....

So We appreciate sharing by KSP Parents in this Forum on DSA Dates for schools offering Auditions for Sports / Dance and Open House later on in the year ....

:celebrate: :celebrate:[/quote]Ah well, for Chinese instrumental - the exam is organised by NAFA, but students are from all over Singapore. Exam is that of the Beijing conservatory board. So there will be candidates of varying standards. And yes, NAFA arranges to give High-sorer awards at the end of the exams every year.

Your eldest child, har? My son only wants to try one dsa and not interested to visit any. *hehe* So we'll be quite \"free\" on this DSA aspect.

Your girl sure sounds like she has a super-full schedule! Thankfully for my son, he finished all his last year. No competitions this year, no syf. *whew*! It's JUST psle.

        Hi Funx3,
Your DD is also participating in Gym championships? So she's a dancer as well as a gymnast? Wow....so talented & versatile.
Looks like there's a great chance for DSA for her. All the best to your DD.

He just wants to go to his own affiliated sec school. Not interested in doing IP. Just as well, I guess. Altho' I'm quite tempted otherwise, but it's not my life.

              Nope, My Youngest.
Her School No affliated school. So Now Got More Job trying to look for a school that offer the CCA she's been taking up.

Not Many Sec School Offer Gym or Dance, and Some of those offering R either too far away or Not in her preference List.

So Lucky for U - Got Tons of Free Time ....
To Have More Revision and Past Year Papers for Your ds?
If HE read this, He will Surely Groan .... Ha HA ....

                    Dear Mums & Dads

                    Happy New Year !
I heard that for DSA, the single most important factor are the P5 & P6 grades particularly P6 SA1 grades; if a child in GEP achieves 80 or more for each subject in P6 SA1, he/she is almost guaranteed to secure a place in the choice of school thru DSA.
How about the IRS project ? Can anyone advise me whether the IRS project is also important for DSA application ? And how important ?

                    Thanks !

Not ALOT of free time, bc he spends 4 days ending late at 4-5pm each weekday already (in school) plus full Saturday mornings. Only 1 afternoon\"free\" and that's when he goes for his music lessons, apart from Sat afternoons.

and if you know my son from the other thread (p5 in 2010), DEFINITELY he would groan big time. Got to manage this boy very sensitively.

Through CCA/talent bc he is strong in that. In fact I suspect he could get into certain other schools under that too, except that he doesn't want to try. Except that the choices not that much unless we want to try schools that are poorer in ranking than his own affiliated sec school (no point, right?).

Affiliated school - try lah. Got more assurance. Affiliated entry points also higher than that generally given for DSA offers, right? ;D
