Hi Blur Dad,
is the other 2 girls in the interview room come from the some school as your DD?
- Nope, all 3 from different sch.
The interviewers ask the girls one by one the same questions? Or the interviewers ask a question and any of the 3 girls would answer the question?
DD said interviewer asked one question, each girl took turn to answer that question. Then interviewer asked next qn, and each girl took turn to answer the next question. DD said even the order of answering question is the same, from the girl seated on the left, to the middle, then the right.Blur Dad:
HI TREX8
Thank you for sharing. Did not see anyone share such information for a long time.
Just wonder, is the other 2 girls in the interview room come from the some school as your DD? The interviewers ask the girls one by one the same questions? Or the interviewers ask a question and any of the 3 girls would answer the question? Hope you would share.
Thank you

TREX8:
Hi TREX8, tell your dd not to be so hard on herself. I'm sure she did okay. Good luck!Paiseh, super busy day yesterday, only got time to share share now.
Setting:
2 interviewers to 3 girls. Style is Q&A. Interviewers on one side, 3 girls seated side by side on the other side. Interviewer asked one question, each girl took turn to answer that question, with some prompting from either interviewers when needed). Basically, like what my DD said - like taking an Oral Examination...
[We were expecting a more chit chat like session as I thought that would be more spontaneous, but anyway ...]
Questions (this is based on what DD can remember but I would think the questions would vary from day to day).
- Give a general introduction (favourite subject, ambition)
- What other schools have you DSA?
- Share on community projects that you have been involved in
- Share on leadership opportunites. One that you are proud of, one that you are not so proud of.
DD came out form the interview feeling lousy and said that she didn't perform well for the interview. However, when I asked her to recount to me, it seemed ok to me. Anyway, told her to put it behind her (two down, one more to go) and take it as a practice session for her Oral Exam Conversation component.
Good luck to those who are going for GAT/Selection Tests/Interviews... :rahrah: -

NYGH's interview for non-HCL GEP girls is held after the RGS interview, from past experience. So you'll hear from them in the next week or so. And their CO will come before RGS and NUSH.Maybe results come back faster for the girls schools as there are fewer GEP girls as compared to boys (for this batch, about 175 girls vs 375 boys)?
Totally no news from NYGH yet leh. In fact, NYGH GAT only on this Sat. I tried to login to NYGH DSA website to check status but got error message ... Just want to get NYGH interview over and done with, then can tick off DSA and \"cheong\" for PSLE ...jtoh:
From my past experience, NYGH is one of the first to give out COs amongst RGS/RI/HCI/NUSH etc. As sautille says, chill.

In fact, those doing HCL may already have heard from them.

Interview was for RGS. No news from NYGH yet. DD had a better experience with the interview session for SOTA, which although was just DD alone to 3 interviewers, she said it was more informal than the one for RGS. But anyway, asked DD to chalk it down to experience and hopefully this experience will help her to ace her NYGH's interview.
TwaTau:
Don't we all feel lousy after interview? Mentally you are all drained, and you will always think you could have answer particular question better. Interviews are interviews, they are supposed to make you uncomfortable.TREX8:

All the best to her, and hope she get CO for this, and give you more headache on which one to choose! BTW, which school was this for? -
No problem, vlim. Love your giraffe pics in the earlier post. Yes, I can understand the agony of waiting ...

Ha Ha ....

Don't Sit on the Extreme Left

Sit in the Middle!

Funx3:
This is also interviewer-dependent. RGS runs 2-3 interview sessions at the same time, held at different venues and with different panel. So maybe you might meet an interview panel that likes to start in the middle?TREX8:

Hi jtoh, DD is somewhat a perfectionist and she felt lousy as one of the girls was so much more eloquent and phrased her response so much better in the interview. DD felt much better when I highlighted that it is not an elimination exercise - doesn't mean that when one is in, the other 2 are out.

No problem Funx3, hope the GAT proceeded well for your DD. One of DD's friend who took yesterday's GAT broke down and cried in the car when her mummy picked her up. She didn't complete most of the questions ...
So heartache when I heard that...Funx3:
Big thanks from Me Too ....
