      Hi ycpang,

If that being the case, do you know the success rate for DSA2 taking place on 23 July which is open to all other P6 students since most places will be awarded to DSA1.
      Thanks.[/quote]

I don’t know. But we can do some calculation. The total cohort at HCI each year is 450. Assuming 50% is catered for appliants through PSLE results ( 225), Minus 100 students of 3 to 4 classes of ispark which consist of GERers and SMOPS winners, minus again another 40 for sports, that left 85 slots for DSA2. I am sure HCI will offer (CO + WL) more than 85 eg. 150 for DSA2 since not everyone will take up the offer at the end of day. This is only my own assumption.

Just curious to know what qns those boys were asked during today HCI interview. Some of the qns my boy had were .. What r the tuition he has.. His prefect duty role ... His interest/ambition... He will choose HCI or RI .. And so forth ...

Just cusious what was your DS's answer to the question will \"he choose HCI or RI? Why?\"

As for my DS's question. 2 interviewers to 1 student.

          1) Why HCI?
          2) Have you gone to any oversea trip with your school?
          3) Do you love music and why?

All 3 questions were asked in Eng.

The whole process took about 10-15 mins

However, I checked with a few students who gather around the enterence of the all while waiting for my DS, they mentioned that PIER related to the MOTO and \"Behavioral Statements\" of HCI

          Moto of HCI - 自 强 不 息
          - Perseverance

I am not sure how this group of students know, they are good menz!

Wow, these kids must have read the HCI website or brochure in detail.

Not surprising. If you’re DSA-ing into a school, the school would expect you to read up on it or at least know a fair bit about it. Otherwise why are you applying for the school? Compare it to a job interview. You would never show up for a job interview without doing some research on the company first, would you?

Actually what HCI Does looks like pretty much what a Big Organsation will Ask for interviews with Job Applicants ....
How Much U Know about the Org'n (in this case, the Sch ....)
So Maybe good to get our kids do a Bit of reading up, esp on the Sch Motto, their Specific Domain DSA in the Sch, and so On b4 the interview ....
              :celebrate: :celebrate:

iSpark for 2011 Year 1 has only around 80 - 90 students, including those PSLE high scorers admitted via S1 posting

in any case, DSA admission is not a matter of supply versus demand. It does not mean that chances are higher if less people applying. Simply put, the students must meet the criteria set by the school before they can be considered. if not enough students meet the DSA entry criteria, the vacancies will be brought forward to S1 posting.

it is only at S1 posting that the vacancies are subject to supply and demand

The final outcome will only be next year, cos there are sure to be changes and appeals after PSLE results out…

Heheee.. Tt is secondary .... Most important is to get the co first.
I think most of the interviews qns asked are not todifficult to answer and some r referring to what the kids have experience like oversea trip or leadship role and so forth.... So wonder will the interview really deter their selection or not ...
