Last time heard RI and HCI used to take the same GAT from civil service college, so if the kid apply both the other one automatically know (wonder how they knew) and email to the kid that they will take it from the other school. But this year, am hearing so many duplication.

because you need to indicate what are the schools you DSA for when you sit for GAT, then they will send result to all schools you indicated in the test

Now the Practice is Different ....
RI / RGS Hold their Own GAT Test and No Longer Share ....

You mean both schools had the exact same 60 questions but one paper was 60min, the other 20min? How interesting.

NYGH GAT and RGS GAT cannot be exactly the same lah. Maybe similar, but I cannot imagine how they can be the same since the administering agency for the test is different?

Well I Also Don't think So at first ....
But My Gal Told Me, \"100% the Same!\"

That's one revenue-generating machine! I wrote earlier that in 2008 I was called up two days before RI GAT asking my ds1 not to go down to take the GAT as he had already taken at HCI. But then, they never refunded me and the $50 paid had gone to...?
Interesting! Money Paid for 2 tests but take once Only?
U Should have complain to Consumer Association!
          Ha Ha ....

Admin fees - paying for the admin to look through your application, conduct interview... PLUS deter people from applying to too many schools when they're not serious about all of them.

            Errrrrrrrr ....
Thought the $50 GAT Test Fees is separately charged from the Admin Fees?
At Least the One from NYGH say So - $30 Admin + $50 for GAT Test ....

By the Way, RGS Charge a Flat $50 for Admin (inclusive of GAT Test) ....

I hope your gal got to do the 60min one first, and then when she did her 20min one, she will be faster as she has seen questions before![/quote]As I Say B4, No Guarantee do B4 is Better, Like vk2010 say, ALL Patterns, Turn Here, Moved There, Dots, Colours, Shapes, ....

Just wondering if both sets of questions are the same. why so much time difference allocated ?

Heard someone’s son who sat for both VS and RI GAT also said the questions are the same/similar.

Perhaps RI/RGS want to Set More Challenging Std ....
Or in the Past, with the 1 hr paper, Too Many Students Getting similar Good Results? So Cannot identify those really outstanding Ones?

Since the interview is conducted in group of 3, the child must be mentally prepared that the other 2 boys may be more chatty and more expressive than he is. Advise your child to stay calm and be himself. From what my son has shared with me last year, the interview was more like a casual talk unlike in HCI. They asked him how did he get to RI that day and how many times had he been to RI? GEP students with SA1 > 80% are highly likely to get a CO from RI. Not to worry too much and all the best to all :rahrah:

:thankyou: sooooo much pigylalala for advise :hugs:
