Nus high selection test results is out. My ds is among the 400 short listed for camp. Thank God! Now the camp will be tough, they will be choosing 140 out of the 400.
:congrats: RSS!
Now your boy got a 35% Chance of Success!
Very Good Odds!
And Good Luck to your ds!
Some info for parent of potential NUSH students.
The yearly intake is 170 (DSA - 90% + PSLE 10%)
2011 cohort was only 140 (DSA + PSLE) out of max intake of 170 yearly.
As 90% of 170 is via DSA i.e 153 placings (COs) excluding a certain no of WLs are given out during DSA phase. Only 17 placing is reserved for PSLE, last year COP 264.
A high no of COs are usually not taken up and almost WLs are as good as COs. -
tx jtoh!

My ds is P5 this year. Following this thread for the past few weeks has been very tiring for me. Can't imagine how I will feel next year.
Don't Worry, when your turn come ....
There'll be lots of parents in the same boat,
to support and cheer you on!
:celebrate: :celebrate:
At least you will be filled with essential info by then & more prepared for the whole

Being in GEP doesn't necessarily mean that you're very strong in Math and Science. At the NUSH camp, there'll be mainstream students who are just as good if not better than some of the GEPpers.
There is no question that some mainstreamers are just as good. For those GEPers who din make it in the round 1 test, most likely they fumbled thru the 2 hrs test. My DD GEP classmate somehow did'nt make it in NUSH round 1 but she got thru NJC HAST testing. She got RGS CO and NJC CO bit chose to go NJC eventually.walterp:
Friend's ds from ge got rejection from nus high. Very shocking!
Last year 1 or 2 of my DD RGPS GEP classmates also did'nt make it in round 1. That's why the NUSH TEST is a very fair one. No special priviledge or advantage for anybody. -

And all this is reflected in their selection process. So I would say that if you didn't clear Round 1, then NUSH may not be the right school for you, much as you think you like Math and Science.
