I think there are lot of students out there don't mind paying this amount and want to go through what you are doing now. So it is a privilege not an entitlement.Junglezoo:
Yay, I cannot believe that I got in to second round of NUSHS DSA! hopefully I will be able to get in finally so that my mum's $130 will not just fly away like this......
It's $50 plus $90 so it's $140 and not $130 but I'm sure your mum will see it as money well spent no matter what.
All the best. -
Hi Blur Dad
Yes DS got grade 8 piano 2 years ago. Since he has 79.x% for sa1 so likely to be on ri waitlist and acsi CO is limited, they only have 90 vacancies for DSA in all domain. So NUSH looks more achievable. His order of preference now is RI, nush and ACSI. RI is just 10 mins bus journey away while the other 2 schools are really FAR. Cant imagaine reaching school at 710am via public transport!! How about your DS preference? -

Hi blurDad,realwhiz:
my DD went for her violin audition at NYGH on Wednesday....now its just waiting... everyday she will ask me 'any email from NYGH'?? haha
Hi realwhiz
Just cusious, what your DD needs to do during the violin audition? She play her best piece or the school will give her a piece on the spot to play? What is the criteria for DSA via music?
Thank you
School just called and informed us to prepare 2 pieces. No specific grade or piece etc.
She played infront of 2 teacher and they asked her few questions thereafter.
I think unless one is applying under MEP, else no specific criteria of DSA under Strings Ensemble. My DD passed Grade 5 and taking Grade 7 next year. -

My DS's preference is RI, ACSI HCI. My preference is RI,HCI and ACSI. I stay in the North-West area, so HCI or ACSI is still manageable. However, my DS will be taking Dad's or Mum's Taxi, so going anywhere on the island should not be a problem.
My DS's result is not so good, I guess CO from RI is slim chance, so pray hard to get CO from ACSI and HCI. -

Thank you for sharing.
I remember some schools DSA via Music Domain need to have at least grade 8 and must able to perform 2 classicial pieces for 5 mins without any fault. Also they will give you a musicial piece on the spot and ask the students do perform. I can't remember which school is that. It seems tough to me. -
Hi has anyone been to RGS interview yet? Wonder wat kind of qns they ask. DD called up finally…

Emmm ... I think so or from the DSA invitation email/letter they send the the Einstein club member ... When u first apply, u would still need to pay $50. If the kid pass the first test then they will refund the $50 .. Not too sure Abt the camp fees part ... Shd be free Ba????... I was teasing the teacher in charge tt we don't mind paying for the fees ... Just gives the kids co straight away without attending the test and camp
yes i didnt attend estein club briefing, was busy then. You mean to say that they told the parents who were there that estein club members are exempted from dsa camp fees?vlim:
Rss
I guess u didn't attend the briefing / introductory for the Einstein club members last yr..
... She said got to be fair to other students so cannot ....
