Hi margaret'
Everyone's asking about DSA n when will we apply for her, I remembered vividly saying, wat DSA as my DD has nothing to call for it. But this year, I think she is one of those with the most DSA, she set thru 3 GATs , got thru 2 n waiting for the last one which she sat on the 16 July. She is mainstreamers. 3 by CCA, one academic and another by TA. Is your DD good in singing? She can join choir next year? I noticed that she has good results, can consider academic application, bear in mind n make it clear to her thAt with her marks she will do well for her PSLE but going thru DSA is an insurance and experience that only P6 has the privilege. So if it happens that she do not go thru any DSA, she will not be despondent. My DD really enjoys the process..... :imcool:
But mum can't wait for the outcome! -

Just curious. Why does she have both Chinese and HCL marks. I thought each student either takes Chinese or HCL?Hi.

Thks for the reply. My girl is not GEP and she is not good in any CCA. She was interested in handbell but her school’s choir, handbell, gym, netball. Most CCAs are for selected students only.It looks like my girl has no choice but just focus on PSLE results.

To jitoh,
Your calculations were right! It all started with where, thru wat??? After her school open house on secondary schools, she set her mind on a particular school which we strongly disagreed but after consideration, we supported her as that was her dream school, than she was supposed to pick another school just in case… N one after the other she wanted to try, so we went ahead. but I believe too that it might b stressful for some kids, but my DD enjoys it, to her it is just another tests, not a study subject, so do her best.
But I must admit, I am the one who is more kang cheong of the outcome after I was introduced to the kiasu forum and this is a GREAT FORUM!!! -

Hello,OrangeJuice:
Hi Belle, DD took her GAT at RGS on 5 Jul, btw she is not GEPer, she is from the mainstream. I just received email from RGS today. Hope you will receive yours soon too

DD is trying for academic English, anyone out there knows abt the test details? what's literary appreciation (one of the test topics) about ?
I think some kind mums have shared about the English and Science half a day selection test some time ago as this 23 Jul selection will be the second and last test.
Thank-you.
Cheers,
Belle.

Thank you !OrangeJuice:
finally i received update from RGS, DD will be attending selection test on 23 Jul. Good luck to all other girls attending the half selection tests

:congrats: And Good Luck, OrangeJuice! -
Just wondering are students in the high ability or twinning classes considered as mainstream fro DSA ?
These are the students chosen by MOE based on the GE selection tests to take part in the special programme.
Anyway most of them should be good with math.
Noticed from DS’s cohort most of these students applied DSA for NUSH and NJC. -

Hahaaaa ... I think my p3 girl might be like your girl in 3 yrs time especially knowing tt her brother has undergone the DSA interview process... But I will restrict her to 2 or 3....as her mummy no stamina... Dapula tahanTo jitoh,
