DS went for his RI interview yesterday, maybe the :nailbite: and the πŸ˜“ in the Junior Block get to me, end up more tire than my DS. The format is as per those described in the earlier post, at least 3 sessions, 3:30pm, 4pm, 4:30pm (15 students per session). 3 students per interview room with 2 interviewers. DS mentioned it was more like a chit-chat session, so that help with his nervousness.

      Some of the interview questions:
      1. Description of project
      2. Why RI
      3. What other DSA apply and why the other schools
      4. Strength and weakness of RI
      5. Favourite subjects
So what did your DS said about RI's weakness ?

          Chatterbox321,

I think there is really nothing to prepare for all academic tests at DSA, dont stress yourself up, maybe you can do what I told my daughter to do (she is going for the English test at RGS this Sat). I told her to treat it as a workshop and go with the idea of enjoying the process and the interaction with the teachers and students there. Hope you will hv fun too and good luck to you as well πŸ˜‰

So what did your DS said about RI's weakness ?
He say he has so far minimum contact with RI, and therefore not able to observe any weakness in RI. For those time he had spent with RI, he was definitely impressed. One of the boy in his group answered that the incident of the boy swimming out of Tekong, who happen to be from RI as a bad impression he had of RI, :yikes:

Very diplomatic answer from your DS lol.
How did the other boy know about the Tekong swimmer ? Was it in the papers ?

Didnt receive any news from RI regarding the interview for my DS. 😞 So it's bad news. But he's attending the NUSH camp this sat..... keeping my fingers crossed

Hi when did your ds go for RI interview?.. As stated in their website the final results will be out by around 29/8 by mail .....

Oh no, my ds havent gone for the RI interview. Just the test. But because I read about some parents posting about their children who went for RI interview on 19 July, that's why I thought my son was not shortlisted for the interview. maybe those postings I read are referring to Y2 dsa????

Just called RI actually. They said my ds is indeed not shortlisted. 29/8 u r referring to is the date of final result (after the interview).

From earlier postings in this thread, it was mentioned tt these group of applicants only need to take gat and test. No need to go for interview ..

The news was indeed reported in the newspaper last week. It even mentioned that he was a Science student.
