Hi Orange Juicecestmoi:
My DD went for Englsig domain test at RGS on 23/7, she told me groups are big and difficult to talk much. she said for poem appreciation, there were 18 of them so if you respond too slow, then you hv nothing to say because your ideas may be commented by girls who spoke up sooner...DD came home and told me she thinks she didnt do well for the poem appreciation section...now keeping my fingers crossed she did well in the other 2 sections
A few parents chatted after DD short break & this was what I heard :
A DD told that her grp was delayed in releasing for break maybe becos no one cld contribute very much in the poem & teacher had to wait very long for ppl to speak up.
Another DD said that her grp teacher had to stop one girl & told her that she was hogging the discussion.
My DD grp had 5 active ones during the poem discussion.
So dun worry too much as I am sure the other components can help ur DD.
I was also told that probably by next week (1st week of Aug) shortlisted applicants will be informed for interview which will likely be held on 2nd week of August.
Btw, did ur DD DSA other schs too?
In the meantime, lets all cross our fingers together & hope for the best!
Hi Cesmoi and Orange Juice,
There was only 1 group of about 15 girls in the 1st Eng selection test. I counted:) DD said each girl was given time to speak in the storytelling and poem appreciation parts. The poem was from William Blake's Auguries of Innocence, not a straight forward piece. But most girls said it's about animal abuse. Guess there were way more girls in the 2nd Eng selection test.
All the best to the interview and prelims :xedfingers: -
Hi, Any GEPers went for NYGHS interview with CO already? I am really worried for DD now… they told her by end of this month, results will be made known… still no news.
-
Hi all,
I also received call from NYGH for my DD to attend interview on 27 July
She applied under CCA -
NJmom,
Don’t think you need to worry too much. Understand from my DD that although the GEP girls (> 80%) have received CO from NYGH, majority are only interested in RGS CO and NYGH CO (no offence) is purely for backup should they are unable to get RGS CO. Even if your DD is placed on waiting list, the chances of getting into NYGH is very high. I am sure your DD will get into NYGH. All the best. -
Thks, young or old. I think u r rite. Many ge girls prefer rgs. I also wonder if nyghs is the rite place for her. Dd felt that she was more welcomed during the interview wif nyghs. Rgs felt a little aloft. Funny thing is that is the way many pple ard us feel too.
Any tots anyone? -

Young or Old:
Just a note, NYGH and RGS do not have waiting lists, unlike HCI and RI.NJmom,
