His dream school is HCI and ok with NUS High. But now his friends want to go RI, so he's wondering.............
You and your child will know best which schools he/she is best suited for and hence may want to try DSA for. We can't advise you as we don't know your child's abilities/interests. If you could list the schools on your radar and your child's talents, maybe parents could give you some idea on how difficult it might be.
Actually I would like to do HCI and NUS High only, as I heard RI is very hard for non-GEP students. He likes to read science related books and not bad in math. -

Hi Funx,
Not Necessarily So.Herbie:
I think there shld be a cap to the no. of DSA a child can apply for.
So as not to rob others from of their opportunity in getting into their dream..
By having safety nets for yrself, you may end up being a 'road block' for others who want to get into their dream school..

After ALL, ONE Child can Attend and Confirm ONE Sch ONLY, Right?
By Taking up the Confirm Offer in ONE Sch,
Automatically, ALL Other CO places reserved will be Available for the Next in Line on the Waiting List.
So Don't See NO Road Block.
By the Way, I Don't Really Advocate to Go For more than 2 to 3 schools for DSA. May Spread Oneself Too Thin - And Clashes in Schedules as Well, I'm Sure.
Have Read in this Forum that by Going for GAT Test / Interviews in One, May Miss attending the Camp in Another ....
Why Burnt and Exhaust Ourselves Out, En Route to PSLE?
If Can, Relax Relax, Get Our Kids Excited over it, (But Not Over-Do It), And Enjoy the Process Along the Way ....
:celebrate: :celebrate:
Not all schools have waiting lists so in that sense the kids who are offered COs and have no intention of taking it up are depriving other kids of a CO. -

I have no experience in HCI and RI. If your son is keen on NUSH he should definitely give it a shot as most of their intake is by DSA. And non-GEP students who are outstanding in Math and Science stand a good chance of getting in too. -

Is that so? I've not heard of schools that don't have WL. RI & HCI & NJC all have WL.
