I am not suprised if many students have multiple COs ... so if they keep one and reject the rest, does it mean that their COs will be given to someone else (in the waiting list)?
yes, that is why NYGH principal asked those who got the CO anyone will be rejecting or not, so that she can better manage the waiting list -

Yes. In some schools a WL is almost as good as a CO. -
I'm a little late this morning, but better late than never!
:congrats: Funx3!!! Time for celebration with your DD for getting into her dream school!!! :celebrate: -
Congratulations, keroppi, on your DS success at RI.
Students with COs/WLs need to decide on their choice only around 24 to 28 Oct. For kids with more than one CO, even if the kid/parent have written in to reject the CO, I don't think the school will give up the place to another child on WL before 24 to 28 Oct - as in, to inform the WL child via officially that he/she is no longer on waitlist but given a CO.
At best, with knowledge of how many kids are likely to reject the offer (like NYGH Principal who asked those with CO but intending to reject NYGH to write in), the school can better manage the expectation of those on waitlist.
My friends whose DSs had successfully DSA for HCl before, told me that the Principal assured them that those on Waitlist 1 is almost as good as a CO as alot of the boys with COs from HCI also had COs from RI.keroppi:

huh?!....u mean all nush students have to take the accelerated prog har?
That's why I say that there are likely to be more students struggling at the higher levels at NUSH compared to other top IP schools, because of NUSH' accelerated programme. -

NUSH is a specialized independent school, as are SOTA and Singapore Sports School. They're for those who are very talented in their fields. And yes, everyone in NUSH does an accelerated programme in Math and Science compared to the other schools. A few exceptional students even do university modules.

Actually if doesnt score well for PSLE and get in to a good school via DSA, it is also a suffer to the kids. This is what happen to my colleague's son. He was WL to NUSH and scored 232 for PSLE. He received CO when collecting his PSLE results and now he was at the borderline for most of the subject and worst was made to stay for extra lessons after school and on saturday.
Agree with you vanilla mum. Just told my colleague that if my DS did not get selected by NUSH & even if he's PSLE result qualify for NUSH, I might not want him to go there. This is because if NUSH think that he has the capability, they would have chosen him during DSA. With such an accelerated prog, it'll be tough for him to cope.
Hi Yukilei, best wishes to your DS, who knows he may score very well and get in RI :rahrah: -
8/13 NYGH Tea Receptions only for WL? anyone know have one more Tea Receptions?
