[/quote]Hi Lynn2010
I worked in one of the top lawfirm and u can actually tell if those young lawyers were from RGS bcos they basically do not hv good EQ (sorry RGS girls). They are simply too proud to talk to you. In fact I was discussing with my boss (a senior partner) and she also felt that NYGH girls are both good in study and better character, she also mentioned that NYGH has given an impression that it is a chinese sch, but that was in the past. she feels that NYGH is better as in educated in all rounded.
Any one here goes through interview in MGS?
To 加盐加醋,heard from my cousin who was working in a big local consultancy firm that they do NOT recruit rafflesians. Reason=attitude problem. Don't flame me ah. :siam: -
Hi Wormy,
Thanks for the info. With such tight labour market, wont they be desperate? Which sch grad do they prefer? Besides, these RG will go to RJC and then a uni. If they go overseas, is it better?
Ultimately this is just Sec then JC we are talking abt. I feel that uni most important. Therefore, i thought RGS, RJC, NYGS, MGS, SCGS, etc, these are good schools. Most importantly is to shape their character as the kids are going through their teenage years

They are unlikely to be desperate as they are one of the biggest local consultancy firm. Sorry can't disclose name. It's their unwritten HR policy. Then again, most R students would end up reading science/law/medicine in uni, very few to business/finance/accounting. And hence fewer to join consultancy field. Am I right?Hi Wormy,

:goodpost: jtoh. I totally agree with you that parents play a crucial part in the child's character building. :hi5:It's too easy to over-generalize students in a school as being a certain way. Personally, if I want my dd to grow up to be filial, humble, ladylike etc, I would imbue in her these values myself. Home and family are still the most important building blocks for a child and teenager's values and moral standards. If I instill these values in her well, and continually encourage these behaviors, I have no fear of her being influenced too much by her peers because her foundation is strong. Similarly, I do not expect the school to be the one teaching her these values.
RGS and NYGH are both very good schools. I would choose a school based on what it is able to offer my dd in terms of academic curriculum, how comfortable my dd would feel in the environment, and the opportunities that would come with being from RI(JC) and HCI(JC). -
