My dd's in a GEP class but I'm assuming the worksheet's generic. Is your dd in RGS?

No, DD is not in RGS now. Has a CO from RGS so will be there next year. She's a mainstreamer so I guess there'll be lots of adjustment to the learning styles, projects and presentations etc. Might :imdrowning: initially...Hopefully, she'll eventually pick up these new skills. πŸ˜‚

That's great, Tinkerbelle. I knew you had a dd who got a CO from RGS but don't know why had this impression you had another dd already in RGS. Did your dd apply via academic domain? The majority of RGS girls are from mainstream so there shouldn't be too much problem adjusting. :)
Hi jtoh,
Hehe...I do have another DD..... but only in P2. Long way to go before PSLE. πŸ˜‰

Yes, DD applied via academic domain. Its reassuring to hear that majority of the gals are from mainstream. Thanks for your reassurance.

Which year is your DD in?

Ya, talking about SAT, will e IP schools arrange for e kids to take it during their 6 years there?

I remembered during the talk NUSH's principal did say that most of their students also take some US College entrace exam apart from their diploma.
Not sure whether it's SAT or not.

NUSH encourages their Y5 & Y6 students to take SAT and AP (Advanced Placement) examinations. To gain experience, the school also encourages Y4 students to take PSAT (Preliminary SAT) exams. The school will send our circulars to students to remind students to register for such exams. NUSH has a dept, College Counselling, which provides assistance and support to students for their Uni education. For the first 3 batches of graduating students, some had gained entrance to overseas Uni before they finished their Y6 at NUSH.
Congratulations to parents who have received CO from ACSI. Personally, I like the IB programme and think that it suited my DD more. Unfortunately, ACSI takes in girls only in Year 5 and 6 ...

          Hi Trex8,
Can girls join ACSI in Year 5 and still do their IB programme?

Yes. A number of MGS, SCGS and other girls join ACSI in Year 5&6.
That's great...thanks jtoh.

Trex 8, another option for your DD should she choose to pursue the IB programme. πŸ˜‚

the link above gives a more complete information on uni application around the world

            US Applications :

            When and How to Apply

Applications to US universities must be done through Naviance and the Common Application and as a student of Raffles Institution. Students who wish to apply will have a Naviance account opened by the College Admissions Counseling Office. Students applying for Early Decision or Early Action consideration should complete their applications by late October. Applications for Regular Decision close on January 1 of the following year and applicants must ensure that all the necessary documents are submitted by early December in order to ensure their application is completed.

Please note that the Naviance account allows the College Admissions Counselors to track and submit students' application materials (e.g. teacher's evaluations, e-transcripts) and applicants should request teachers' and counselor's evaluations through Naviance. However, applicants will still have to complete their applications to the colleges via the Common Application website.

both RI & HCI has an in-house 'University Admission / Placement Office or Dept\"

I believe every year there a number of RI students who managed to obtain uni offer of places even before the A level exam / results (from the open house talk by the P)

And HCI also updated their website with the following :
A colleague told me that IB programme is a much more recognised programme (compared with A Levels) for uni in US. Anyone has more info to share on this?

Yes, I think it is true. One of my friends during her 2-year stay in states wanted to pick up a course but none recognized her Singapore certs. She had diploma from SP, n they told her that is not IB - they only recognize IB. But not sure what RI n HCI will do to help the graduates get into these overseas schools.
