For the DSA - Sports that My Gal and Her Gym Mates Apply ....Dear Funx3,
Do you mean RGS sent out rejection emails?? Strange, we receive neither. After everyone received COs (based on this website), I called RGS just in case they missed out ours. But they say still pending. Nevermind, whatever will be will be. We will know this in another 2 weeks
The Sch sent the CO Email on Thu evening and the Rejection Email to My Gals' Gym Mates the Following Mon ....
But Maybe Not the Same Case for Different Domain ....
Good Luck to U!

Funx3:
DD's classmate has also received a rejection email from RGS for Eng domain.

As Funx3 mentioned, maybe different domains are sending out CO and rejection letters are different times.
Lynn2010, all the best to your DD. Hope she hears some good news soon. :xedfingers: -
The 2011 DSA exercise is drawing to a close, pending some outstanding CO to be received, and for those who did not get any offers, it is time to pick up the pieces and steel yourself and work toward peak performance at PSLE.
For those parents whose kids are not yet Pri 6 in 2011, there are a few things to note if you are considering DSA for your child in the coming years.
1. For DSA 2012, the Pri 5 result for 2011 Pri 5 is critical as well as 2012 Pri 6 SA1, esp for the GEPpers. For non-GEPpers, RI requires Pri 4 results as well. So must cheong now for SA2!
2. DSA is a long process, start gearing up for it from Pri 4, build up consistent performance along the way, and build confidence. DSA does not just suddenly start in April or May with online form-filling.
3. Start attending open houses of those target schools in Pri 5, get to know their requirements.
4. Get involved with the enrichment programs run by those target secondary schools, join the competitions they organise, be on their mailing list
5. Some of these programs & competitions are : RI inner circle, Einstein Club, HCI Bilingual Talent Camp, NYGH Bilingual Camp, SMOPS, NMOS, RI World Math, Po Leung Kok World Math Competition, Raffles Science Olympiad, Raffles Junior Scholarship (for pri school kids)
6. Some of the above programs are administered via the kid's primary school, limited vacancies.....hence my earlier point that consistence performance from Pri 4 is important because when vacancies are limited, the pri school has to select only the top few to go (eg HCI Bilingual Talent Camp - each selected primary school can send only 7 kids).....so, at the final analysis, strive to be among the top to improve your chances
The above is no guarantee of DSA success, esp for RI, but it helps to bring a CO nearer. -

Wow well said vks2010. Looks like i need to start preparing DS2 who is in pri4 but he is in twinning and not GEP. Good in math but not science, so so with languages, now really struggling with social study portfolios etc.The 2011 DSA exercise is drawing to a close, pending some outstanding CO to be received, and for those who did not get any offers, it is time to pick up the pieces and steel yourself and work toward peak performance at PSLE.

Very touch that you've helped to summarise ur experience for us. Even though it's too late for us to go back to P4 & to visit the respective school open house, I do appreciate the gesture!
