DSA 2011

I think this year it was just under 210 in the end? I think NJC limits the number of students it takes in by not allowing students with lower than a certain PSLE aggregate score in under S1 posting. The last 2 years, it was 257. Last year, they capped it at that, I suppose, that's why didn't take in 250 and considerably less than that. The year before, on reporting day, the list showed some 189 students instead of near the vacancy level of 200 too.
They are supposed to take in 250 for 2011 but in the end only took 210+
So let's see how is it for 2012. -

Can a school set a pre-determined COP for S1 Central Posting? Isn't the COP determined by the last person entering the school based on vacancies? Or are you saying that NJC chooses not to admit students below a pre-determined COP so as to maintain a higher COP?

I can understand that NUSH does this because it's an independent school. But isn't NJC a government school? Does it also have the leeway to do this? -

DD's classmate has also received a rejection email from RGS for Eng domain.
For the DSA - Sports that My Gal and Her Gym Mates Apply ....Funx3:
Dear Funx3,
Do you mean RGS sent out rejection emails?? Strange, we receive neither. After everyone received COs (based on this website), I called RGS just in case they missed out ours. But they say still pending. Nevermind, whatever will be will be. We will know this in another 2 weeks
The Sch sent the CO Email on Thu evening and the Rejection Email to My Gals' Gym Mates the Following Mon ....
But Maybe Not the Same Case for Different Domain ....
Good Luck to U!

As Funx3 mentioned, maybe different domains are sending out CO and rejection letters are different times.
Lynn2010, all the best to your DD. Hope she hears some good news soon. :xedfingers:
Hers is under GEP. Anyway, I've already taken it as a rejection :

Dd just came out from the activity . Said they were told to do a river crossing activity with all of them having their legs tied together . Then every one of them were not allowed to use either their hands, mouths etc to try to get across in 40 mins . There were 3 teachers observing and watching . She had fun and was full if enthusiasm when she came out . Waiting for the interview at 12.30 now . Glad her s was early and not too late !

I didn't realize your dd's application was under GEP. So long as you haven't heard from the schools I suppose there's still a glimmer of hope. Did you hear back from MGS? Good luck! -
