• RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting

octoberbaby:
You mean with the new rules MOE just set. The students were asked to go back to their first posted sec sch? Reimburse back all just bought is a must. But embarrasement and demoralising to the kids, money can't reimburse.

just read about this on this thread and I recalled my daughter coming home after orientation and telling me that one of her classmate was transferred out of the sch because her appeal failed. I was puzzled then as the girl had bought uniforms , books and joined the orientation. My daughter said this is her appealed school and she was told she can't stay anymore and hea to go back to her original posted school. I thought my daughter prob got the information wrong and now all of these made sense . Poor girl , after all the fun and hype during orientation and after making new friends , she has to start all over again. Really feel sorry for her :imsorry:

• RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting

Hi ,

Just to double check again, so if my daughter s agg is 236 and we appealed to cchy which has a cop of 237 ( 2015) and 236 (2014) . Does that mean she s not eligible for consideration for appeal under moe 's new directive cause my understanding is she has to meet last year s cop right ?
DD1 said that her junior unable to get into RVHS (250 +2) and so called up the school admin to check.

RVHS this year COP is 253. If I didn't remember wrongly last year was 249.

Neighbour's kid scored 253 and applied for RV first choice. Did not get in. They called up RVHS and was told cop is 253. Even the admin staff is clueless why 253 in neighbour's case not accepted. Did the kid miss by a few decimal points? So can anyone explain what's going on?

I guess if it is those few decimal pts, then may consider appeal.
Maybe his aggregate was 251+2? Cause my friend s daughter scored 252 +2 and got in.

Yes , agreed wit what aAlang commented . We would not have wasted our cchoices if this was make known to parents prior to the selection. As we were advised by most school even some pprincipal to put the schools as one of the choices then go through the appeal process. However , swiss cottage said that their sselectionpprocedure will still be based on the school s own creterion .

• RE: Appeal Secondary One Posting

Wanted to print out the appeal form for crescent girls and was shocked to find out that they have changed their condition for appeal for this year . They state that only those who meet the cop for year 2015 are eligible to appeal. :stupid: but why do those who meet the cop still need to appeal ????

I called the school and was told this will be the new advisory from MOE. I asked the same question about why the need to appeal if you meet the cop the school said because they have students who are turned away even though they meet the cop . :siao:
I felt a bit cheated because prior to choosing the 6 schools , I did call crescent and was advised to put the sch as one of the choice then appeal . Now with this new condition, I had wasted my choice and it was my 1st choice .
I called swiss cottage but was told that this was not advised by MOE. Their school will look at appeal case based on their own criteria . So I am really confused now :whut:
So was it or was it not a new advice from MOE ???

Moe said EESIS this year is 262, last year is 258. From

Last year COP of each school will be raised up to 4 points, I think. This means this year paper is difficult.
Does this mean all the sch s cop will be raised ? 😢
