it was the main block in HCJC that was declared unsafe, had to be torn down and rebuilt
as for the clock tower, the boys’ favourite ghost stories during the orientation camp is to go there and talk ghosts
and by the way, only the top 4 class (sec 4) are eligible to use the classrooms at clock tower as their classroom…it is a prestige / entitlement thing for the top classes to be given the honour to occupy the historic classrooms -

and more ghost stories on bishan, being built on former cemetery, whereas bukit timah was used by the japs
