hi Phankao, is it true that CHS rarely give DSA CO to their affiliated primary boys? do u know why? my ds is in CHS primary, I'm hoping to try for dsa when he's in P6.
I wouldn't dare say its his dream school. It's the most realistic one lah. ALtho' must say it's rare that they even give DSA COs to their own affiliated school boys, so it's nice to feel wanted. I wonder what will be the outcome of the other school he applied to. Don't know have any chance or not. I think in all likelihood, he will go to CHS anyway.tisha:
Double congratulations on getting a CO from his dream school. :rahrah: :rahrah: -

Moreover, most secondary schools have limited DSA CO vacancies (10% if non-IP) so they will reserve for external talents they really want to recruit.

Our RI letter dated 10/8 but only received on 15/8.
So looks like my postman very slow one.
May not receive tomorrow as well. -
Pen88n:
Just as \"Pen88n\" pointed out. So unless they really want that boy from the primary school, they won't give the offer (afraid talent go to other school is one of the reasons).

\"R3mom\" - what domain does your boy plan to apply under DSA?
During the briefing/ceremony where the letters of offer were given out, I think that there were some 30 given out. I suspect they are all COs and no WLs. Offers were given in 9 broad categories:
Wushu, Volleyball, Chinese-orchestra, Floorball, basketball, softball, TAbletennis, Tennis, and Track/Field. For my son's domain, only 3 offers were given out this year - he's the only one from CHS pri. Most of the offers are for sports. I think there are some 4 boys from CHS pri given offers under sports for DSA this year - if I'm not mistaken, they are under Tennis and Basketball. All the rest are from other schools. So....don't believe Mr Lee HB when he advises all the parents at P1 orientation (and at other events during the school year) to join various performing arts groups. He is quite \"hard-sell\" on this, and would repeatedly quote DSA as one of the advantageous. It really is not easy to use CCA for DSA unless it's under sports - OR .... you try for schools lower in popularity than CHS (I dare not say \"ranking\" LOL), but that move doesn't make too much sense considering affiliation.
