my first post here.

I have headache due to DS getting CO from NUSH and DHS,any suggestions? :?

This is a good problem to have. I was previously in the same situation. Only DSAed for these two schools as we prefer a mixed school for my shy DS.

Eventually, we chose DHS because of
1. Distance from home
2. NUSH time-table may have long breaks between subject period which we do not like.
3. NUSH focuses on Math & Science. In fact, in DHS, DS does better in Humanities.

Talk to your child and list down pros and cons. Well, both are good schools.

Thanks jtoh for your well wishes. This DSA exercise has been a very good learning experience for my son. We embarked this journey with an open mind and only wanted him to have no regrets whatever the outcome since he has tried his best.
We are ready to move on and work towards PSLE.

After all the excitement of waiting and going down to open the mailbox umpteen times, it s really a big disappointment to hear abt the rejected not getting notified on the same date as those who were successful. But remembered 1 parent from the year before said that her ds s classmates received co, wl and rejects all on the same day. If only njc informed us that they will send out successful letters 1st then it can at least spare us the agony and waiting . This weekend is ESP a long one and dd only applied for this school as it s her dream school for the longest time .

She didn't do very well for her prelims so was banging on her to get through this dsa so that we don't get heart attack after psle result. But alas , it was not to be ..... :gloomy:

:congrats: 1248 on your DS's double CO. Both are good schs so a lot depends on the distance, the sch cultures & programmes offered. All the best!

The two schools are very different. One's SAP while the other is modular and Math/Science focused. Is your ds very passionate about Math and Science? If he enjoys a good challenge in Math and Science, and wants to do an accelerated course in it, then NUSH might be a better choice for him. If he's undecided and thinks that he might want to pursue more humanities, than DHS might be more appropriate. I'm not sure if DHS offers bicultural studies. Also, you might want to consider the school culture and CCAs. If you've attended the Open Houses you would have a better idea of what each school's ambience is like. Which school offers more opportunities to your son in terms of academic flexibility, advancement, overseas trips, competitions, CCA competitions, leadership opportunities etc.

Well so far only one member reported receiving letter.
This is unusual seeing that there are quite a few who are waiting.
SO let's just hope it's the postal delay.
