DSA 2011

It is taxing to visit 2 schools in one day, esp. if you want to see more of the school. It is a pity that the schools all have limited days for open house and somewhat it always clash.Hi, we went to NYGH and RGS today.
We spent about 3 hours plus in NYGH as we visited their library, Lab room and dd manage to do some experiment there. They also showed us the i-pad that they use for the 2 Secondary one classes this year.
We meet quite a few of the Secondary 1 students and they were very friendly and share with us some of their orientation program and how they handle the transitions from P6 to Secondary one.
Due to the heavy traffic we reached RGS at 1 plus and perhaps we were tired at that time and we just stay about 15 minutes and went off.
This above is our experience today. -

:? My DS is P6 this year. It is my DS that will be going to P1 next year.
Oh Chief, your ds in P6 going for DSA too this year? Which Domain? -
Actually I have this idea  - does the school need to have just one open house day whereby they put up all the \"ra-ra\" to showcase their academic, CCAs, marketing talk, etc?? :scratchhead: Can it not be a case of an open house week, with assigned students and teachers to bring parents and kids around to see the actual school day, and displays of CCAs, small group (more personal) talks, etc?? Wouldn't that be a more realistic view of secondary school life??

Yeah Realistic from Our Point ....
But Logistic Nite-Mare for the Sch ....
Now they Do it in 1 Day, Some more on Sat (Non-Sch Day) ....
If 1 Wk, .... :faint: :faint:

Anyone know which DSA secondary school accept taekwando. My friend ask me. His son have been winning silver for competition. He represent his school.

Funx3:
The logistics come in becos of all the \"ra-ra\" they have to put up - set up booths / events to showcase CCAs, and the number of students involved due to large crowd. If spread over a week, divide out the students into different groups to cater for each day, no need to set-up booths for CCAs showcase, but rather put up display....may be lesser work and we need not be subjected to so many \"marketing messages\".Pen88n:
