I think u r referring to the one who didn't go to plk cos of age issue. DS says he spotted tt top 3 guy today in ri uniform leh. Also, 2 of the hci team members are in ri. The round 2 top guy dint go to plk cos of music commitments. So the ri team were essentially the top 6 who are now all in ri.

the team has only four members each how does RI team has 6 ? and your earlier post mentioned RI team is 4 ......

RI is un-defeatable this year then. πŸ™‚

I wouldn't say tt. Depends on which sch helps the kids to peak better. Nush is not to be underestimated since it's curriculum has heavy emphasis in maths. I'm crossing my fingers n hoping tt those in ri remain focused in math n not switch interest to other subjects. Hee hee. So selfish right?

But I'm sure RI has programmes to develop its Math talents too. Keep us updated on the results as those come in later in the year. πŸ™‚

As explained, 2 in top 4 couldn't make the trip therefore the next 2 get to go.

SOTA is meant for those who truly excel in performing / visual arts and who wish to focus in that area when they grow up.

Not meant for those who are still undecided between mainstream school or specialised training from the age 13 but still excel in arts. This group can opt for Art Elective or Music Elective in those IP schools without killing the interest / talent

But I thought SOTA provides good general academics as well, so that the child would not compromise on having to spend time on his art/music.

don't know leh, what u said seems to be the case for AEP / MEP in mainstream / IP schools.

however in another discussion somewhere in ksp, if want to transfer from SOTA to mainstream school, must step down one year, meaning academic subjects are at different level....

Medical Faculty - but of course depends on their academic performance in IB eventually, I guess!

I must say though that when I accompanied a friend's child for audition at SOTA, I didn't find the standards all that high & mighty. I think to enter RI or RGS under DSA music(MEP) is way tougher!

                        Hi,

My girl is currently in p3. she start the chinese dance cca since p2 and recently take another cca -badminton. she likes both cca, but two cca timing is conflicting with each other. so we have to chose 1. outside of school she also have ballet.

The fact is that school chinese dance win gold every year while badminton team is 2nd runner up.

I am wondering which cca to chose in order to have higher chance (benefit) to apply DSA in p5. Any suggestion?
