      Snow Crystal:
Most of the sports and CCA talents whom they want are already recruited at DSA stage.

But they may have decided to go to other schools so still have to recruit again. When it comes to sports, alot of musical chair...even up to the last day of the yr!

        verykiasu2010:

for those with zero success at DSA (tried, but no offer no WL) yet finally got high t-score (not marginal at the cop) which allow them to walk in to any school, appeal may still be appropriate because some school gives almost immediate approval...and being kiasu,
for this kind of immediate approval case, does the stud still need to submit s1 form within the timeframe? According to MOE spell-out process those who have no successful DSA got to go thru s1 posting, right?

Also what if this stud did not try DSA at all, can also appeal to get early approval then wait ?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here. The supplementary intake is only for those who tried to DSA into a particular school but didn't get a CO. It is not for those who didn't try DSA at all or didn't try DSA at this particular school.

How can you appeal if you haven't even tried DSA at all? This exercise is not for early intake. If you don't qualify for this supplementary intake, you just submit the S1 Central Posting form and wait for the posting results in Dec. And if you're not happy with the posting then, you can appeal.

              well said Jtoh :salute:

finally one of the less kiasu, and sensible comment

yes, firstly for non-successful DSA applicants, then after S1 posting, for those who changed their mind can try.

KSPs, if your child scores well above 265, why the heck so kiasu go appeal if you did not even do DSA to that sch ???? Just use the $20 give yr kid to spend when he go out celebrate with his/her frens la.

Just apply S1 posting and wait to enrol, almost as good as in.

Haha! Yes, save the $20 + $60 and give it to your kid who deserves it. πŸ™‚

If your kid scored more than 265, he/she can get into any school he/she wants. (Based on past COP trends). So just submit the S1 posting form, go on a well-deserved holiday and come home to good news. πŸ™‚

This is my understanding after reading the various info from the MOE website on DSA and S1 posting and experience with my DS1 three years
ago (please correct me if I am wrong)

                  1) Students with DSA CO and WL (who already turn into a CO) on the announcement of the PSLE probably on the 24th Nov

This group of students will not be allowed to participate in the S1 posting. (think they don't even have a S1 form or account and password). They can try appealing to their dream school immediately after the PSLE results as
they don't even have a S1 form for schools application.

                  2) Students with no DSA or include those with rejected DSA from a particular school will be issued with the S1 posting form upon the PSLE announcement probably on the 24th Nov.

This group of students will need to apply officially thru' the S1 posting. They
only need to appeal after unsuccessful S1 posting probably in the late Dec.

                  Regards.

                    What about NUSH ?

                    They don’t join S1 posting.
Is there a supplementary apllication phase as well ?

For NUSH, think the supp application starts about 1 week after PSLE announcement as they are not in the S1 posting.

Haha nebbermind you are definitely more in tune with sports domain than I am  I am not as familiar but from what i know in top IPs, most top sports kids get through these schools at DSA stage. Would think that top sportsmen get to choose which IP to go at DSA and will definitely chope :xedfingers: their dream IP CO. From last year RI appeal, saw boys with PSLE above COP eg PSLE score 262 vs COP 259 not successful in appeal. My heart goes to these kids :hugs: cos they could have gotten into RI via S1 but becos they didn't get RI CO at DSA and instead accepted another school's CO, they are not eligible for S1 and can only try to squeeze into the tiny appeal door πŸ™ it's so heart wrenching :gloomy:
