Assuming a student got rejection from R1 during DSA due to poor result in GAT and no other CD/WL else where. so this stud went to appeal after obtaining a PSLE score higher than previous COP. Will the poor GAT score supercede the PSLE score and causing him to be rejected in via appeal. ( I do remember there was a 26++ appeal case got rejected in this forum last year) If this is so, he should not appeal but just apply for s1 posting. If GAT is not being used why the need to take GAT and pay $60? This is all along I feel puzzled. Anyone can enlighten me?
There was speculation that in last year's case of the boy who scored >260 but was rejected in his appeal did badly in GAT. So not surprising he was rejected. This boy couldn't have gone for S1 posting bec he already had a CO from some other school. With the limited number of places and so many boys applying, it's not surprising that RI will reject some who scored >260. -

This is a dead giveaway - anyone who was from my year (and the year before and the year after) would probably now straightaway who he is! ;P[/quote]I think I vaguely remember him. But he was not the only one right, his good buddy also like that. :rotflmao:

I think you are confusing yourself
he first paid $60 (whatever amount) to take the GAT for the DSA. during supp intake, he does not need to take GAT anymore. GAT was used during DSA. The GAT at supp intake is for those who has not taken GAT previously.
if his t-score is comfortably higher than past cop, then why bother with appeal and suppl intake if he has been given the S1 form ? just submit and wait for S1 result lor. -

I am assuming he din get reply for his appeal so he went ahead to submit s1 posting to RI. So in this case will the GAT result supercede RI decision making later? Or is it better just to submit s1 posting and not do appeal?Zann:

If high t-score highly likely will be accepted liao. Anyway, if he didn't get confirmation thru appeal he need to submit s1 posting mah.... :scratchhead: -

I am unsure if GAT during his DSA affect his appeal so may be to be safe he having 270 should just go for s1 posting and put RI as first choice. Then why last yr there were case of 26++ unsuccessful in their appeal?Zann:

For yr first question, it's up to the sch, say if he did badly in GAT, then PSLE get 270, what do you think ? RI will still grab him ma. Maybe that day, he mental block ? the GAT was not so simple, answer 60 questions in 15mins. So most did not complete I would guess.
Hope this clarifies your confusion.
