phtthp:
but why do parents want to 'abandon' RGS, after putting it as 1st choice ?
As Sista Trex8 has shared, Even if it's put as 2nd Choice, RGS sends the Email.
So Guess it's Auto-generated to Act as an Acknowledgement of Receipt,
And Reminding PArents and Gals like in the case of Sista Trex8 .... Still Can Amend to RGS as 1st Choice, B4 28/10/11 3pm!

Funx3:
Maybe RVH is nearer to her home and is more suitable for her academically?cluelessmom:
My dd and I were really surprised at how few of her cohort is choosing NYGH over RGS........likewise for the boys with the vast majority choosing RI over HCI......I really dun quite understand y when both are equally good schools... is it just this year or gep students?
Errrrrrr ....
My Gal just related to me her Classmate put RVH as 1st Choice, RGS 2nd ....
May Be the Only Exceptional One?

Thatโs a wise decision bec itโs pointless to go to a premier school thatโs beyond your ability only to struggle and be bottom of the cohort. That would be bad for the childโs confidence and self-esteem.

Will those students get into the top elite schs via cca or affiliation ,struggle and be bottom of the cohort :scratchhead: -

OT a bit.another possible reason is ... RI is a top boys school.
so to match RI boys calibre - RGS also need to take in top girls, not so much as take in affliated girls. Because come yr 5 & 6 A level, they study together.
During our time, most of the top students from RI and RGS went to HCJC, not to mention the SAP school students.
Then RJC was a distant 3rd behind HCJC and NJC. -

Ms tay:
it depends on individuals .... some are late bloomers and thanks to affiliation, caught up with their peersjtoh:

specifically for NYGH there is not much diff because the affiliation gets in at 250 -
Ms tay:
Not all sports DSA students are academically weak. There are those who do alright in the top schools. There are of course others who don't do as well.jtoh:

Hi All,
My DS got a DSA CO from VS and I am wondering if he should take up the offer. He wants to go to RI and thinks he will do well enough on get in based on results. I am, however, not very confident
and think he may miss by a few points from RI's COP. Appreciate any advise I can get on what I should do. Thanks!
