      Hi,

My DS is exempetd from MT. Does anyone know how are T-scores affected if he has only 3 subjects ? Any idea if he would be \"advantaged\" or \"disadvantaged\" ? Thanks!!

Don't know exactly how PSLE scores are calculated with MT exemption BUT all my friends' kids who were exempted from MT did far better than expectations.

Thanks, :xedfingers: it will be the same for my DS!

      Hi All,

Can anyone advise how are cut off points of top schools affected if :

      (i) if papers are generally easy like this year (understand from previous threads) that T-score may be lower --->does that mean COP of top schools will be higher ?
(ii) if the P6 cohort is larger than average (heard that 1999 rabbit year had a lot more babies šŸ™‚

if general t-score is lower, then COP of every school will drop, eg last year top t-score was only 282 and RI's cop was 259, HCI was 257 etc

in other years where the top t-score was 290+, the cop was 26+ for RI

a few thousand more babies per year will not affect the t-score up or down, out of the pool of +/- 40 thousand

Thanks so much for your info, didn't realize that this year's paper is similar to last year's. Great.. hopefully the COP for top schools will stay the same or not change much. This is good news!! :imcool:

      last year for NYPS, top score was 276 x 2, followed by 273 x 2, and 272 x 4, and 271 x 6; a mixture of mainstream and GEP

Yes exactly. Prior years you should see 280s and a lot of 270s for NYPS. A lot of average schools top scorer scores ard mid to high 260s last year. Like what you and others said, so long as Simply Kiasu DS is top 3% tt's what matters :imcool:

Hello All, thank you so much for your thoughts and advise! Will take the leap of faith and go with DS's wishes :xedfingers:

Thanks so much! I very much want to share my DS confidence ... :xedfingers: except this year's paper seems easy and I hear that when the exam is generally easy, T-scores tend to be lowered šŸ˜“ and believe that COP for top schools will be higher :slapshead: ? HELP !

Hi jtoh, Snow Crystal and soka. thanks all for your kind advise.

jtoh, you mentioned that schools *may* be clamping down on DSA transfer cases this year - where did you hear this \"lobang\" from ? šŸ™‚

      Hi All,

My DS got a DSA CO from VS and I am wondering if he should take up the offer. He wants to go to RI and thinks he will do well enough on get in based on results. I am, however, not very confident šŸ˜ž and think he may miss by a few points from RI's COP. Appreciate any advise I can get on what I should do. Thanks!
